It was a magical night September 19th, 1992 at Riverhead Raceway with an ending not even the best Hollywood script writer could have ever imagined. Prior to the ’92 NASCAR Modified season at Riverhead Raceway, Harbach, then 55 announced that year would be the last of his storied 40 plus year driving career. (Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway returned to Friday night racing action with a Stafford Weekly Series program on Friday night, May 27th. Alexandra Fearn won the Limited Late Model feature before rain prematurely brought the rest of the evening to a halt. BARRE, Vt. – The Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series visited Barre, Vermont for the first time in history and Chase Dowling wasn’t going to be denied. The Roxbury, Connecticut, native captured the $10,000 winning prize in the Granite City 100 – passing for the lead with 48 laps to go and leading the remainder of the distance en route to Victory Lane.
