Track Talk Column for Sunday, 5/29/22

With gasoline prices at the highest seen in history, one way to keep the traveling to a minimum is taking in a cruise night in southeastern MA and RI.  There are events held every day of the week with no admission charge.   The events usually start around 4 p.m. and end at Dusk.  Food is available at most of these gatherings.  Just about all of them will run through the month of October provided there’s fair weather

On Monday the MA Motor Vault offers one in Bridgewater, Ying Dinasty Restaurant on Rt. 6 in Mattapoiset and the Hooters Restaurant in Warwick, RI.  And another new one at the Whitman VFW.   Tuesday has Whites Restaurant in Westport hosting its event, in Weymouth the Auto Zone Store offers another cruise along with Slater’s Park in Pawtucket, RI. Also, another one is at Cobb’s Corner in Canton at the old Rite Aid Drug Store location.
Wednesday is very busy with offerings from the VFW in East Freetown, Star Drive In East Taunton, Lafayette Club in Taunton, Shaw’s Market in Hanover, the Elks Club in Attleboro and at Nordstrom’s in the Warwick RI Mall and at Fredrickson Farms in N. Scituate, RI. A new cruise also starts on June 1 at the Sons of Italy in Stoughton.
Thursday’s offerings have the MA Cruisers at Patriot Place’s Bass Pro Shop in Foxboro and the Wheels of Time of Brockton holding their event at the Brewster Ambulance Garage in the Campello section of Brockton.  Both clubs alternate every other Thursday.  Check their web pages for the dates.  Also, on Thursday night there’s a cruise at the Auto Zone Store in Woonsocket, RI.
On Friday’s it’s the Trinity Church in Canton at the foot of Big Blue Hill.  Due to a carnival at the Canton Trinity Church next week, it’s moved to the Trinity Church on Sumner St. in Stoughton on June 3. It’s the designated site for just one week with a return to Big Blue on June 10.
Saturday’s Cruise offerings include the Get Fresh Cafe in Abington, Gold’s Gym in Millis, Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline, Mattapoiset Wharf and McDonald’s in Cumberland, RI.  Sundays has those events at Crescent Park in Riverside, RI and the East Bay Grill in Plymouth.
The 49th Bay State Auto Show at the Endicott Estate in Dedham goes off on Sunday, July 10 at 7 am and ends at 2 pm.  Some 1,200 entries for Classics over 25 years old are expected.
