SEEKONK, Mass. — Just five weeks remain in the 2025 Fast Friday and NASCAR racing season at Seekonk Speedway, and this weekend, it’s the final tune-up before the race for the championship begins in September. The fields will be set for the Sunoco Drive For The Cup, with the top six drivers in the championship standings at the end of the August 22-23 events advancing. Many battles are tight – with the decision coming down to the final laps. All races this weekend are regular distance.

GROSSE POINTE, Michigan (August 18, 2025) – Broad Arrow Auctions, a Hagerty (NYSE: HGTY) company, saw no less than eight new record auction prices set at its annual flagship Monterey Jet Center sale, held August 13-14 in conjunction with Motorlux, the sold-out official kick-off to Monterey Car Week. The auction achieved $57.4 million in total sales with 80 percent of all lots sold. Bidder registration was the highest for any Broad Arrow auction to date, with an increase of more than 20 percent over the company’s Monterey Jet Center Auction in 2024. Dylan Slepian of Dix Hills ended a three-year dry spell for he and car owner Rob Pelis Saturday night at Riverhead Raceway as he drove to victory in the annual Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 NASCAR Modified event. Dylan’s winning pass for many was reminiscent of winning passes executed by “Charging” Charlie Jarzombek when Slepian took to the outside lane to take the lead and eventual victory, his first since September of 2022.How Did Northeast NASCAR Drivers Do At Richmond?
Austin Dillion won the Cup race at Richmond. Joey Logano of Middletown, CT ended up fourth while Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT ended his evening in 35th place.In the Craftsman Truck Series race, Corey Heim won that event. Corey LaJoie came in fourth. Next was Gio Ruggiero of Seekonk, MA who ended up sixth. Corey LaJoie is the son of two-time Xfinity Champion Randy LaJoie who grew up in Norwalk, CT.
Checking the track’s grandstand, it looked like the crowd was good. In my opinion I’d have to say at least 60 % full!
