The Next Gen car is a collaboration of the brightest engineering minds in racing, with contributions coming from all sides of the NASCAR and automotive industries. The design of the Next Gen car gives the drivers greater control while putting an emphasis back on race strategies, team personnel and vehicle setups. Time was of the essence on Saturday as a thunderstorm was barreling toward Talladega Superspeedway in the middle of the NASCAR Xfinity Series race. The competition was fierce but as the skies opened up, it was Kaulig Racing’s Jeb Burton that was able to hold onto the lead just before the final caution came out before the race was red-flagged and ultimately called because of weather securing his first career NASCAR Xfinity Series win. Richmond Raceway has been known by several different names and has been reconfigured several times over the years of its existence, but all the while it has been a staple on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule since 1953. The paint schemes for the NASCAR Darlington Throwback weekend have rolled out. Last week, reigning Cup champ Chase Elliott unveiled a paint scheme honoring Alan Kulwicki. Now, Joey Logano has unveiled another iconic paint scheme for the May race.
The Team Penske star will honor a motorsports legend in Mario Andretti with a throwback paint scheme at Darlington. Andretti is one of the very few drivers in history to win races in NASCAR, IndyCar, as well as Formula One. (more…)
