TeamSLR: Barry Boes, Julian DaCosta, Thomas Ellis, Tristan McKee Lead Four-Car VIR Assault

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (Oct. 2, 2024) – Storylines abound throughout the four-car TeamSLR stable as it heads to the penultimate Cube 3 Architecture TA2 Series round of the season at Virginia International Raceway in Alton for Sunday’s VIR SpeedTour.

Its 2024 fulltime driver Barry Boes arrives at the 3.27-mile, 17-turn circuit on the Virginia-North Carolina state line with a seemingly insurmountable lead in the Pro-Am Challenge standings with an eye on clinching the title with another strong result this weekend. Joining him in the TeamSLR camp are teenage rising stars Julian DaCosta and Tristan McKee, and veteran driver Thomas Ellis, who will be making his fourth TA2 appearance of the season.

Workmanlike Day for TeamSLR at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

Barry Boes scored his sixth Pro-Am Challenge-class victory in 10 races this season and fourth in the last five races. He entered the weekend with a 102-point lead in the championship within a championship.

The 16-year-old Julian DaCosta’s eighth-place finish was his second top-10 in as many TA2 Series starts this season. He made his series debut with a 10th-place finish April 14 at NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale, Louisiana. (more…)

TeamSLR: Barry Boes, Julian DaCosta Set for Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (Aug. 28, 2024) – Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario, which began its life as an iconic road-racing circuit known as Mosport Park, plays host to its first Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli headline event since 2014 this weekend, and TeamSLR and its M1 Racecars equipment are ready for the challenge with drivers Barry Boes, the TA2 Pro-Am Challenge-class frontrunner, and 16-year-old Julian DaCosta, who will be making his second career TA2 start.

TeamSLR Turns Its Eyes Toward The Glen

(Aug. 21, 2024) – After an eight-week summer hiatus on the Cube 3 Architecture TA2 Series schedule, TeamSLR makes a highly anticipated return to competition this weekend with drivers Barry Boes and Carson Kvapil ready to tackle the 3.4-mile, 11-turn Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International circuit during this weekend’s Mission Foods Watkins Glen SpeedTour.

It’s been highly anticipated because, despite the lengthy break in the points-paying national series schedule, TeamSLR and its M1 Racecars enjoyed shining moments on both coasts in the eight weeks since the series contested rounds seven and eight on back-to-back weekends June 22 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington and June 29 at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Pair of Solid Top-Fives for TeamSLR in Detroit Race No. 2

M1 Racecars was represented on the podium for the sixth time in the opening six races this season by virtue of TA2 rooke Thad Moffitt’s runner-up finish. In Saturday’s first race of the weekend, Rafa Matos of Peterson Racing brought home the runner-up finish.
