MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Aug. 2, 2022) – It’s official. Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be among the late model competitors at North Wilkesboro Speedway later this month. Today, the NASCAR Hall of Famer confirmed he’ll race a JR Motorsports entry in CARS Tour action during North Wilkesboro’s Racetrack Revival on Wednesday, Aug. 31. And he’ll do it with a familiar number and partner, dusting off the famed No. 3 and reuniting with iconic soda Sun Drop for the event.
BRISTOL, Tenn. — Racing will return to North Wilkesboro Speedway this year.
Called a Racetrack Revival, the effort to bring back racing to North Wilkesboro, will begin with racing in August on the pavement and then on dirt in October before the track is repaved in 2023, Speedway Motorsports announced Saturday at Bristol Motor Speedway. (more…)
The revival of North Wilkesboro Speedway moved one step closer on Thursday night as Speedway Motorsports revealed its initial plans for the historic North Carolina short track.
Speedway Motorsports President and CEO, Marcus Smith was the guest speaker at the Wilkes County Chamber of Commerce 75th Membership Celebration, where he shared conceptual renderings for what was once the oldest venue in NASCAR … and could be once again. (more…)
