Is he a deserving World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion?
For many, it seemed a foregone conclusion that David Gravel Racing would earn his maiden WoO championship in 2024. This was, after all, the season when five-time champion Brad Sweet left the series to join High Limit Racing.
Gravel, from Watertown, CT had been the championship runner-up in each of the previous three seasons.
CURRENT POINTS LEADER: One week after the points lead changed hands, we’ve got a tie atop the World of Outlaws standings between David Gravel and Giovanni Scelzi. Gravel drove his way to a runner-up at Kennedale, his third podium of the season. That result was enough to equal Scelzi, who salvaged his night by charging from 20th to 10th.
