Historic Martinsville Speedway Ready to Finalize NASCAR Cup Series Championship 4

Known as one of the best tracks to settle a score or decide who gets to advance on for a championship in an elimination race, the historic 0.526-mile Martinsville Speedway will once again play host to the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs’ Round of 8 elimination race, the Xfinity 500 on Sunday, October 30 at 2 p.m. ET on NBC, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Surprise Peformances Shake Up Early NASCAR Cup Standings

It’s just two races but it’s never too early to start counting championship points towards the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. The season has opened with back-to-back first-time winners in Michael McDowell and Christopher Bell, meaning there are just 14 positions remaining in the Field of 16, with two teams that didn’t qualify last year already punching their ticket.
