How did drivers with New England connections do in the Indy 500 and the Coca Cola 600?

Of all of the competitors with New England connections, Santino Ferrucci of Woodbury, CT did the best over the long Memorial Day Weekend.  Santino finished the Indy 500 in sixth place, while Helio Castroneves won his fourth Indy 500.

Later, on Sunday night Kyle Larson won the Coca Cola 600, the longest grind of the season in NASCAR land.  Joey Logano of Middletown, CT finished 17th with Corey Lajoie taking 19th.  Corey’s dad is Randy LaJoie, a two-time Xfinity Series Champion, who hails from Norwalk, CT.  Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT placed 25th while Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT came in 26th.
