Bear Ridge Closes Out 2021 Season With Lots of Action

Jason Gray didn’t need to show up to clinch the title in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, but being the racer he is, he said h*** yeh I’m showing up and finishing the year on a bang, which is exactly what he did.

While he didn’t set fast time those honors go to Robert Tucker who by doing so beat out Jordan Fornwalt for the runner up position in the points standings by one point, he did take home the rest of the honors for the double header weekend. With a field of twenty-six cars strong the 100-lap main event offered plenty of excitement for the fans. Gray beat out Jordan Fornwalt and Robert Tucker for the victory lane spots with Josh Sunn and Matt Lashua rounding out the top five. The Professor Chris Donnelly was in the house for the first time in a modified in 2021 and finished strong in the sixth-place spot. The ever popular “Growler” event was held after all the regular features and once again for the second year in a row, The Gray team pit crew were the ones to get their driver out first earning the team an extra cool $500.

Deja vu from 2020 as Matt Ellsworth repeats the weeks he wins in 2021in the Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes. Matt Ellsworth wins week three in 2020 and in 2021. Matt Ellsworth starts from mid pack for their sixty-lap main event, gets to the front in what is being said as the best Coupe Race at the Ridge and takes the win, as he did in 2020. Ellsworth beats out Tad Kingsbury, the two of them getting by the pole sitter Cody Gregoropoulos who was able to hold on to third. Ryan Christian and Brian Chaffee completed the top five. The Coupes also had the ever popular “Growler” event and once again as they did last year, the Ellsworth team pit crew were the ones to get their driver out first earning the team an extra cool $500, as they did in 2020!

The USAC DMA Midgets took to the track for the final time in 2021 running our segment feature event with three segments combined for an overall total to determine the nights winners. The first segment win went to Justin Sheridan after ten laps. The second segment went to Seth Carlson after fifteen laps and the third segment win was Justin Phillips after twenty laps. The overall finish was a three-way tie for first meaning the finish of the last segment would break up the tie. Justin Phillips is the overall winner with Justin Sheridan in second and Seth Carson in third. Joe Krawiec and Brandon Piastka completed the top five. Seth Carlson is officially your 2021 track champion.

Ryan Christian is the winner in the C.A. Miller Limited Late Models with Matt Lashua and Tyler Tremblay joining him in victory lane in that order.

Mike Stender gets his first win of the season in the LaValley Building Supply Dirt Stocks beating out Jesse Dunham who crossed the line in second and Lucas Wheeler who came home third. Mike Mann and Dawn Rumrill rounded out the top five.

Two more winners were added to the final tally in the Peanuts Auto LLC Four Cylinders as Hayden Bishop was finally able to get the win in his feature beating out Jonathon Baker and Blake Buccellato. Travis Kin and Katie Burroughs completed the top five. The second feature went to Jason Porter with Logan Martin and Carl Sweet joining him in victory lane. Devon Spinks and John LaForest rounded out the top five. After their regular features a “non-winners” thirteen lap event was held for those who had not held the checkered flag in victory lane in 2021. This event was sponsored by Porter Power Racing and Big Al’s Photos and was thirteen laps as that is Jason Porters number in the four cylinders. Randy Morrill was the winner of the night getting to hold the checkered flag, taking home a special trophy and a little extra in his pocket! We want to thank Jason and Diane for making this happen and for Big Al kicking in some dough as well. This event put the total number of winners in the division to eighteen.

The Sting Vintage Race Cars 4/6 Cylinder Enduro put on an action filled event for the fans, with thrills and spills to keep everyone on the edge of their seat. After 75 laps Danny Doyle is the winner beating out Buddy Chapman and Eric Lundblad. Duke Maxwell and Jeff Mitchell rounded out the top five The Sting Vintage Race Cars 4/6 Cylinder Enduro will make one more appearance in 2020 on our 5th annual Sunday Funday October 10th..
