Thursday’s First Qualifier was won by Brad Keselowski while Boston, MA’s Kaz Grala came in 18th.  The Second Qualifier was taken by Chris Buescher …

…while Middletown CT’s Joey Logano was ninth with Corey LaJoie placing 11th.  Lajoie is the son of two-time Xfinity Series Champion Randy LaJoie who calls Norwalk, CT his home town.  In Friday afternoon’s Camping World Truck Series Zane Smith captured the win while race driver and TV color man Parker Kligerman of Westport, CT took fifth.
Saturday’s Xfinity race was won by Austin Hill with Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT taking a seventh place.  Not so fortunate was Brett Moffitt who ended up 34th.  Moffitt drives the entry owned by Cape Cod’s Chris and Mary Our who reside in Harwich, MA.
In Saturday’s companion Mendards ARCA event Dale Quarterly, a Rockland, MA native, ended up 12th.  Quarterley was pretty consistent in the early going and was sticking in the top five. While dodging the wrecks further along in that race, he placed 12th overall in a very large field.  Dale is a former Privateer AMA Super Bike rider who moved into the stockcars, including the NASCAR Busch North Series, with some success.
In Sunday’s Daytona 500 was Austin Cindric took the big one. Corey LaJoie was 14th at the checkered flag while Joey Logano was eliminated in a late race, getting collected, crash and Kaz Grala ended his day with a disappointing 26th place.
