Charlie Baldwin Tops Super Streets On Day One Of CMP Fall Challenge

Charlie Baldwin, Winner At ClaremontCLAREMONT, N.H. – It was all of a balmy 37 degrees Friday night when Charging Charlie Baldwin flew under the checkers to win the nightcap Super Street main event at Claremont Motorsports Park,  concluding day one of the historic third-mile oval’s opening round of its huge three day event fifth annual Fall Challenge classic weekend.

But, while the autumn evening air was crisp, Baldwin was red hot, leading all the way in the warmup 25-lapper ahead of Saturday’s scheduled $5.000-to-win Super Street Fall Nationals huge event. Baldwin was one of seven feature winners Friday at the Thrasher Road speedplant,

Other winners Friday included Kyle Templeton in the Mini Stocks, Kyle Kenny in the Pure Stocks, Ben Bosowski in the Crown Vics, and Stone Slattery in the Ridge Runners.

Meghan Bell held off a strong field of Six Shooters to score her first career CMP victory, and Hayden Kingsley topped the 603 Mini Cups to wrap up the 2025 championship in the traveling Mini Cup series.

Baldwin started up front in the R.E. Hinkley  Super Street feature and never looked back behind him, Chris Lindquist, veteran hot shoe Chris Riendeau, and heat race winner Cody Schoolcraft raced inches apart.

Baldwin had opened a huge lead when Chip Laquire’s ride grenaded with three laps to go, bringing the field back to his bumper for the restart. Again, he was easily up to the task and, while Riendeau and Lindquist traded paint and traded places behind him, he dashed off to a three-length win. With Riendeau second and Lindquist third, JD Stockwell moved up to fourth and Schoolcraft completed the top five.

Dick LaMotte held the early lead in the RaceDay TV Mini Stock main but when he and Kyle Templeton tangled on lap eight, both ducked into the pits and LaMotte was unable to return. Templeton, though, came back like a heat seeking missile.

Blasting back up to third on lap 13, and second two go-rounds later, the reigning  multi-time CMP Mini Stock champion sped off into the night to win with ease. Kevin Boucher was second, and steady Tim Paquette came home third.

There was a clash of newly crowned track champions up front as the 22-car field of LaValley Building Supply Pure Stocks went to war. Colton Hull, the 2025 CMP champion set alongside Green Mountain Boy Kyle Kenny, the 2025 king of Monadnock. Kenny would win this one, as the two Vermonters squared off.

And, blasting off from row two, Sunshine Towner Carter Conroy would get more than his own two cents worth in. With a big shuffle occurring after the 25-lapper’s only caution on lap 16, Andrea St. Amour rubbed her way up to second, but Conroy had other plans in mind.

Roaring back into second with the white flag waving in the air, the Newport teen – a multi-time 2025 CMP feature winner, earned the runner-up hardware, just ahead of St. Amour, steady Chris Quinn, and Hull.

Making a rare behind-the-wheel appearance Friday, speedway owner Ben Bosowski  led early and often in the Crown Vic feature. Steve Miller Jr. survived a crunching mid-race meeting with the turn four wall to come home second, while Ethan Williams was strong all night en route to his third-place finish.

The rear-wheel drive V8 Crown Victorias – the one the cops used to drive – will return numerous times next summer to the CMP third-mile.

Meghan Bell started up front in Friday night’s Six Shooter feature and led all the way. Her victory hardly came easily though. To earn her first career CMP victory lap, she had to run a perfect race to hold off one of the best in the business, Michael Yeaton.

Yeaton looked high and low for a path to the front, putting incredible pressure on the less experienced driver in hopes of inducing a single stumble that would open a door to the top spot. Bell, though, never batted an eyelash, running a flawless race to nip Yeaton. Garrett Barry was third on the night.

Small tires and a cold track don’t always make a perfect pudding. It took four cautions and a brief red flag stoppage to get the 603 Mini Cup feature in the books. When it was done, Hayden Kingsley had capped his 2025 series championship summer with a Friday night feature win. Jacob Raby was second under the checkers, and heat winner Jason Romprey was third.

Friday’s opening day of Fall Challenge concluded, CMP readied itself for a monster second round. Among Saturday’s huge schedule of events was the Super Street Nationals main event, the second visit of the season of the sizzling SMAC Super Modifieds, and triple 20-lap Pure Stock features.
