NASHVILLE, Tenn. – With the calendar turning to August, every point has become increasingly valuable at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. Drivers in all eight championship divisions will return to action on Saturday, August 8, as Bass Tire Family Night brings another full evening of grassroots racing and family entertainment to the historic facility.
Headlining the night will be a 100-lap Pro Late Model feature, joined by the Turnkey Autoworks HRA Street Stocks, Limited Late Models, Pure Stocks, Pest Doctor Front Runners, Legends, and CP Race Wear Bandoleros. With several championship races separated by only a handful of markers, Saturday could prove to be one of the most pivotal nights of the 2026 season.
The closest battle belongs to the Pro Late Models, where Lebanon’s Hunter Wright clings to a one-point advantage over New Albany, Indiana’s Brett Robinson, 177-176. Three different drivers have already visited Victory Lane this season, with Franklin’s Jackson Boone remaining well within striking distance, just seven points behind the leader. Connecticut native Anthony Bello has quietly put together one of the most consistent seasons in the division with four top-10 finishes in four starts, while Corey Deuser rounds out the top five.
The Turnkey Autoworks HRA Street Stocks, racing for Nashville track points, feature another outstanding championship fight. Bowling Green, Kentucky’s Ayden Oliver leads the standings after earning two victories, but Murfreesboro’s Chad Chaffin sits only nine points back. Portland’s Michael Pannell, Nashville’s Sam McCord, and veteran Beau Mitchell complete a competitive top five.
In the Limited Late Models, Michael Pannell has established himself as the driver to beat with two victories and a 26-point lead over Nashville’s Jeff Belt. Smyrna’s Dwayne Hudson, Ardmore, Alabama’s Steven Shaw, and Dickson’s James Jordan continue to keep the pressure on entering the second half of the season.
The Pure Stock championship may be the tightest battle of them all. Bowling Green’s Chase Cohron holds just a four-point advantage over Nashville’s Matt Barnes, setting up another showdown between the division’s two race winners. Phillip McCord, Jason Plunkett, and Brian Woodard remain within striking distance should the leaders stumble.
Three wins in three races have propelled Brett Lee to the top of the Pest Doctor Front Runners standings. While Lee has been nearly perfect this season, Nashville’s Ray Gann trails by only 11 points, followed by Hunter Pennington, Jay McWhorter, and rookie Kevin Furness.
The Masters/Pro Legends division has developed into one of the season’s most competitive championship battles. Kyle Fletcher leads the standings by only five points over Kevin Rollins, while Michael Crafton sits just seven markers behind the leader. Oliver Cordell and Dylan Fetcho round out a tightly packed top five with plenty of racing still to come.
The combined Semi-Pro/Young Lion Legends division has featured outstanding competition from both classifications. Overall, Dylan Faulkner leads by just three points over Bradley Swift, while Young Lion standout Landon Thrasher is tied for second overall and continues to lead the Young Lion competitors. Galen Clark remains only six points behind the leader, making this one of the most competitive divisions on the property.
Perhaps no championship is closer than the CP Race Wear Bandoleros, where Jordan Bauer owns the slimmest possible advantage—a single point—over two-time feature winner Lucas Harrison. With just one point separating the top two and several talented young drivers continuing to improve each week, every position on the racetrack will matter Saturday night.
Beyond the championship implications, Bass Tire Family Night is one of the most family-oriented events of the season. Fans can enjoy bounce houses, giveaways, and an evening of affordable entertainment while watching seven divisions of racing across both the historic 5/8-mile and quarter-mile ovals.
