Crew Chief Phil Moran To Leave Doug Coby Racing At End Of 2021 Season
MILFORD, Conn. — Doug Coby Racing announced on Wednesday that crew chief Phil Moran will be departing the team at the end of the 2021 race season. Moran’s final race for the team will be on Sunday, October 10, in the return of the historic Thompson 300 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, with Doug Coby behind the wheel. Moran will be departing the team following this special event and will pursue a new opportunity with Haydt-Yannone Racing in 2022 with driver Ron Silk. (more…)

STAFFORD, Conn. — Justin Bonsignore sealed his third career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour championship on Saturday, September 25 at Stafford Motor Speedway. Bonsignore accomplished the goal in fine fashion — taking down his first career win at the Connecticut half-mile after 40 times of coming up short.

Coby will drive the No. 10 Mayhew Tools Modified in the NAPA Fall Final 150 at Stafford Motor Speedway, the season-finale for the tour. Riverhead Drivers Dominate Early But Patrick Emerling Prevails In Whelen Modified Tour Miller Lite 200 Saturday
Over the first 115-laps of the Miller Lite 200 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at Riverhead Raceway Saturday a combination of Tom Rogers Jr. of Riverhead, Dave Brigati of Calverton and Kyle Soper of Manorville showed the way. For awhile it appeared Ed Brunnhoelzl Jr. who was the last Riverhead regular to win a WMT race in 1995 would witness that 26-year mark erased. Then the second half of the race unfolded with WMT championship contender Patrick Emerling of Orchard Park, NY taking the lead on lap 116 from Soper to score the victory. (more…)
