Thompson, CT — The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) announced Thursday afternoon the 2026 Whelen Modified Tour schedule ahead of the 2025 championship event at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia. Included in the sixteen race schedule will be three events contested on the 0.625-mile Thompson Speedway here in Connecticut including the all-important finale in the heart of Modified country.

Included in the sixteen-race schedule is the 2nd annual Thunder in the Mountains 200 at White Mountain Motorsports Park (WMMP) on Saturday, June 20 after NASCAR’s most historic division put on yet another stellar showing in 2025.

The new season marks the highly anticipated return of Stafford Speedway and Oxford Plains Speedway, while the championship finale moves back to its storied home at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.

Originally set for an early-season April showdown, the Pine Tree State 125 presented by Wellman Paving was rain delayed by 175 days for the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour’s third visit to Oxford Plains Speedway this season with thirty cars making the trip. Saturday’s showcase was also a shining moment for the ACT Flying Tigers, rounding out this year’s three-race Tri-State Series with the Vacationland 75.
CLAREMONT, N.H. – It was all of a balmy 37 degrees Friday night when Charging Charlie Baldwin flew under the checkers to win the nightcap Super Street main event at Claremont Motorsports Park, concluding day one of the historic third-mile oval’s opening round of its huge three day event fifth annual Fall Challenge classic weekend.
Activity and excitement surrounding the 9th annual Islip 300 Saturday November 15th at Riverhead Raceway building for the $12,000 to win tour type Modified spectacular. Monday, track management announced free registration for the Islip 300 and support classes is now open, as well revealing several major changes to race procedure for the 300. Chase Grennan of Glen Cove scored a huge upset win at just 17-years old last November, and the college freshman hopes to become the first back-to-back winner of the short track classic next month.

The battle for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour championship has reached its crescendo as Austin Beers and Justin Bonsignore settle the battle for the series championship during Thursday evening’s Virginia is for Racing Lovers 200 at Martinsville Speedway (7:30 p.m. ET on FloRacing).
Beers enters Thursday’s race with a 14-point advantage in the standings and needs only to finish eighth or better to claim the series championship regardless of what Bonsignore does. Bonsignore, however, is the defending winner at Martinsville and could turn the tide in his favor if things Beers stumbles at the 0.526-mile oval.
The road to the end of the 2025 season runs through three big Super Late Model events. This Saturday October 25th Cordele Motor Speedway kicks off the 3 race stretch with the World Crown 300. Following Cordele the Appalachian Sucker Punch ASA STARS National Tour will conclude their 2025 season with the 40th running of the All American 400 at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway on November 7-9. To cap it off one week later the ASA Southern Super Series will crown its 2025 Champion at New Smyrna Speedway as a part of the 60th running of the Florida Governor’s Cup.
