SEEKONK, Mass. — One down, two left to go in the inaugural Seekonk Speedway Drive For The Cup presented by Sunoco Race Fuel. This Friday and Saturday night, the playoffs heat up with round two, as the Final Four will be set in all nine of Seekonk’s divisions looking ahead to the finale weekend on September 23-24.
(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted First Responder Friday on September 9 with the TC 13 Shootout joining Stafford’s five weekly divisions in feature action. The SK Modified® division ran their regularly scheduled 40-lap feature as well as the 3rd Annual TC 13 Shootout, a 13 lap race contested between the top-13 finishers from the 40-lap feature.
Barre, VT — One of the most important events of the Thunder Road season did not disappoint as drivers in all divisions went all out on WDEV/Calkins Portable Toilets Championship Night. With founder Ken Squier in the house to view the culmination of the 63rd season of racing at the track he helped build and maintained for well over 50 years, the drivers sure put on a show to remember. The 13-lap race is a tribute to Ted Christopher, Stafford’s all-time winningest driver with 109 career SK Modified® wins, 131 overall feature wins, and 9 SK Modified® track championships.
The final weekend in August is widely known as the biggest racing weekend of the year in Maine. At Wiscasset Speedway, this weekend serves as a tune-up for one of their biggest races of the year – the Boss Hogg 150. WINCHESTER, N.H. – Todd Patnode had the dominant car Saturday at Monadnock Speedway, blistering the high banks to score his second NHSTRA Modified victory of the summer.
But while the former track champ had the fastest car all night, it was the presence of an errant lapper on lap 25 that left fans and competitors alike with a bevy of what-ifs at the conclusion of Saturday’s 40-lap main event. (more…)
