DIRTcar Summer Nationals Return to Lincoln Speedway This Thursday for Rain-Delayed Stop

DIRTcar Summer Nationals Return to Lincoln Speedway This Thursday for Rain-Delayed Hell Tour StopLINCOLN, Ill. – After Mother Nature reshuffled much of the 2026 DIRTcar Summer Nationals schedule, one of the most anticipated stops of the season is finally set to take place as the Hell Tour rolls into Lincoln Speedway this Thursday, July 2. The event serves as the makeup date for the rain-postponed June 21 program and will feature the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Late Models, DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals, and Lincoln Speedway’s exciting Crown Vic division.

Originally slated as part of Father’s Day weekend, the Lincoln Speedway event became one of many casualties of a relentless stretch of rain and severe weather that has plagued the 40th anniversary edition of the Hell Tour. In fact, the series managed to complete just one event during the most recent week of competition as repeated storms forced cancellations across the Midwest, resulting in a reshuffled schedule that now brings one of the nation’s premier dirt late model tours back to central Illinois on Thursday night.

Three rounds of qualifying whittled the forty-car group of hopefuls to just thirty starting spots.

St-Georges, Quebec driver Phillippe Poulin proved to be the lone Canadian heat race winner in the first with Cole Littlewood, Justin Prescott and Erick Sands collecting the checkers in the remaining three. The Quebecers came back with a vengence as Patrick Cliché and Dany Trepanier split the two consolation rounds and Dany Gariepy took the B-Feature victory to qualify into the Claude Leclerc 150.

Greece delivers early WRC drama as Neuville, Ogier and Fourmaux fill Friday’s top three.

Greece delivers early drama as Neuville, Ogier and Fourmaux fill Friday’s top three.Thierry Neuville led EKO Acropolis Rally Greece after a punishing Friday that immediately underlined the rally’s fearsome reputation.

The Hyundai Shell Mobis World Rally Team driver completed the opening full day 9.7sec clear of Sébastien Ogier, with team-mate Adrien Fourmaux third after an eventful leg in which he both led the rally and lost time to a puncture.

The longest day of the rally, totalling 129.22km, brought heavy road cleaning, sharp rocks and constant risk across six gravel stages north of Loutraki. Few crews escaped the day without drama, but Neuville’s measured approach proved enough to keep him in front overnight.
