62-year-old Sainz started his World Rally Championship career in a Ford Sierra Cosworth in 1987. Fast-forward 37 years and Sainz brings back his immense passion for motorsports to Ford as the American brand chases down Dakar success.

Born in France, he always had a passion for Enduro and Rally Raids, having been crowned National Enduro Champion in France in 1992 and Junior World Champion by Enduro Teams in 1, 993. He competed five times in the Paris-Dakar, securing third place in 1997.
As a winner of six Le Mans 24 Hours, eight Formula 1 victories and countless other triumphs — including the Dakar Rally — Jacky Ickx is a living legend who has competed in a career spanning over 30 years. The 46th edition of the world’s biggest rally raid race will launch off the start line on January 5 as the 2024 Dakar Rally sees nearly 800 racers embark on the toughest Saudi Arabian staging yet of 7,891 kilometres across 12 stages plus a Prologue. Here is all you need to know:
“We took it upon ourselves to make the 5th edition of Saudi Arabia the toughest one since the race came to the Middle East”, warned the director of the rally, David Castera, when unveiling the details of the 46th edition, which will start in AlUla on 5 January and finish in Yanbu, on the shores of the Red Sea, after a 7,891 km trek on roads, tracks and dunes, including 4,727 km of specials.
