Jon Armstrong Scores Emotional Maiden ERC Win To Set Up Three-Way Title Decider

Jon Armstrong claimed a maiden FIA European Rally Championship victory by winning JDS Machinery Rali Ceredigion to boost his outside title hopes.
Armstrong, co-driven by Shane Byrne, produced an impressive drive across 12 challenging Welsh asphalt stages, including a wet final two tests, to take the victory from M-Sport team-mate Romet Jürgenson by 29.2sec. The victory M-Sport’s first for in ERC since Adrien Fourmaux won Rally Islas Canarias in 2020.

The 2004 NASCAR Cup champion and 2017 Daytona 500 winner made the trip to Finland to experience the WRC for the first time. The 46-year-old has been a long-time admirer of rallying and in 2014 competed in the Monza Rally Show, driving an M-Sport-built Ford Fiesta RS WRC.

Brynildsen Crowned ERC King of Scandinavia With Thrilling Victory
Eyvind Brynildsen is a first-time winner in the FIA European Rally Championship after he came out on top of a thrilling battle for BAUHAUS Royal Rally of Scandinavia glory on Saturday.
Armed with a Pirelli-equipped Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, Brynildsen triumphed by 4.9sec from Finn Roope Korhonen – the winner of the last round in Hungary – in an MRF-shod Yaris. Korhonen won the final Power Stage to snatch second away from local hero Isak Reiersen, who had been locked in an intense fight with Brynildsen throughout the weekend.
