DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Oct. 20, 2023) – A week before crowning the 2023 champion at Martinsville Speedway, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour plans to carry on a new schedule tradition by opening mere miles from the birthplace of NASCAR and finishing at one of its most historic tracks as the 16 race dates on the 2024 schedule was announced today.
On a day that saw RFK teammates leading a combined 190 laps, Chris Buescher kept the field at bay as he won at Richmond and solidified his playoff hopes. Teammate and owner Brad Keselowski showed what strength the team had by leading a race high 102 laps and winning Stage 2.
RIDGEWAY, Va. (July 30, 2023) – RFK Racing dominated Sunday afternoon’s race at Richmond Raceway as Chris Buescher won his third career Cup race and locked the No. 17 into the NASCAR Playoffs, while Brad Keselowski led the most laps of any car en route to a sixth-place finish.
Only five races remain in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series regular season (Richmond, Michigan, Indianapolis, Watkins Glen and Daytona) to decide who will compete in the 16-driver Playoff field, and for the second time this year the NASCAR Cup Series will head to Richmond Raceway for some Sunday afternoon side-by-side short track action in the Cook Out 400 on July 30 at 3 p.m. ET on the USA Network, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
To cap off a thrilling afternoon at Pocono Raceway, Kyle Busch – the winningest driver in CRAFTSMAN Truck Series history with 64 victories – executed a perfect last-lap pass on the current driver standings leader, Corey Heim, to secure Kyle Busch Motorsports’ 100th NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series victory – the series-most.
The rough start of the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series season for Kaz Grala and Sam Hunt Racing was shaken off with a top-five finish in the team’s home race at Richmond Raceway.
The Boston, MA native ran well inside the top-10 throughout much of the Toyota Care 250. Grala battled with Cole Custer, Sheldon Creed, and Josh Berry over the course of the final Stage of the 250-lap race. (more…)
RICHMOND, Va. – In many ways, the second round of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season looked to be shaping up like another strong podium finish for Doug Coby and Tommy Baldwin Racing. In the Mayhew Tools No. 7NY, Coby qualified sixth on Friday for the Virginia is For Racing Lovers 150 at Richmond Raceway, but mother nature brought rain, winning the night, and rescheduling the race for Saturday, April 1.
RICHMOND, Va. – Justin Bonsignore scored his second consecutive top-five finish in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season on Saturday, April 1 at Richmond Raceway. Driving in the Virginia is for Racing Lovers 150, Bonsignore started from the outside of the front row after qualifying there on Friday, March 31. Following qualifying, rain fell at Richmond, and postponed the race to Saturday – following the conclusion of the NASCAR Xfinity Series 250.
