This weekend’s Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) is not just the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s lone visit to Canada, it’s also the only time the spotlight will shine on the Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) category this season. With the exotic Grand Touring Prototypes (GTP) enjoying a weekend off, it’s up to the LMP2 drivers, teams and machinery to set the pace on one of North America’s most challenging road courses.

Wright Motorsports Readies for Double Duty at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

BOWMANVILLE, Ontario (July 10, 2025) – After a standout debut at the 24 Hours of Spa where Wright Motorsports earned an impressive fourth-place finish in its first-ever entry at the legendary endurance race, the team returns to IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship competition this weekend for the Chevrolet Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP). As the only Canadian stop on the 2025 IMSA calendar, the weekend presents a double-duty challenge for the Porsche customer team, who will field entries in both the WeatherTech Championship and the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge.

Workmanlike Day for TeamSLR at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

Barry Boes scored his sixth Pro-Am Challenge-class victory in 10 races this season and fourth in the last five races. He entered the weekend with a 102-point lead in the championship within a championship.

The 16-year-old Julian DaCosta’s eighth-place finish was his second top-10 in as many TA2 Series starts this season. He made his series debut with a 10th-place finish April 14 at NOLA Motorsports Park in Avondale, Louisiana. (more…)
