Brett Osmond and Will Collins Rule Late Model Doubleheader at Wiscasset Speedway
With sunny skies overhead, a light coastal breeze and temperatures in the mid-70’s, it was an absolutely beautiful day for some racing on Saturday at Wiscasset Speedway.
Wiscasset Speedway brought the heat to the coast, hosting an action-packed Group 2 program that included the weekly T&L Automotive Modifieds, Portland Glass Strictly Streets, Dale’s Cash Fuel Roadrunners, the visiting Ladies Acceleration Tour and double features for the Wood Pellet Warehouse Late Models.
Logan Melcher Overcomes Adversity at Wiscasset Speedway

While heavy fog rolled into Coastal Maine on Saturday afternoon, Wiscasset Speedway was able to keep the action rolling along and successfully beat Mother Nature’s time clock, hosting a full Group 1 racing program.
The Davis Erector Group 207 Crate Modifieds were the spotlight division of the night with two feature races. Bubba Pelton took off with the early lead in the first race and held off a hard-charging John Ricci as the laps wound down, scoring the victory. Ryan Phillips held the upper hand in the second feature, but Pelton pulled to his door on lap 10, challenging for the top spot. Pelton completed the pass on lap 17 and never looked back, sweeping the division.

After another unfortunate rainout last week, Wiscasset Speedway finally saw some clear skies on Saturday, allowing them to host a full Group 1 racing program. Featured on the day’s schedule were the Gosline Insurance Group Super Streets, Davis Erector Group 207 Crate Modifieds, Brackett’s Market 4-Cylinder Pros, Kennebec Equipment Rental Thunder 4 Minis and one of the biggest Pro Stock races of the year, the $3,000-to-win BIW Shipbuilders 100.

While most race tracks in the Northeast cancelled their Saturday racing events due to unfavorable weather, Wiscasset Speedway rolled the dice and won, hosting an action-packed Group #1 racing program which included the Norm’s Used Cars Pro Stocks, Kennebec Equipment Rental Thunder 4 Minis, Davis Erector Group 207 Crate Modifieds and double features for the Brackett’s Market 4-Cylinder Pros and Gosline Insurance Group Super Streets.

Fans crowded into Wiscasset Speedway on Sunday afternoon for one of the biggest Late Model races of the year: the $15,000-to-win Coastal 200.
37 drivers showed up to try their hand in the main event, whereas 28 would make it into the actual show. Daniel Harding topped the speed charts in first practice for the Coastal, while Nick Hinkley and 2-time defending race champion Mike Hopkins led the charge in the sessions that followed.

Memorial Day weekend is almost here, which can only mean one thing at Wiscasset Speedway; It’s time for the annual Coastal 200! The $15,000-to-win Late Model race is one of the biggest of its kind in New England and brings out some of the region’s most prolific drivers.

Wet weather has been a factor all season long at both Wiscasset Speedway and local race tracks across New England. Leading into this past weekend, Mother Nature’s misfortune had already resulted in an abbreviated Group 1 racing program last week at and a 2-week postponement of the Group 2 season opener.
With rain set to drench Coastal Maine yet again on Saturday, Team Wiscasset decided to make a rare but beneficial move and rescheduled the racing action to Sunday afternoon. Both fans and drivers packed the stands on Mother’s Day for 5 divisions of racing fun, starting with the Portland Glass Strictly Streets.

Over 1,800 fans made the voyage to Wiscasset Speedway on Saturday for the track’s Group 1 Opening Day, the first of two to kick off the 2025 season.
