AM Racing | Christian Rose Kansas Speedway Fall ARCA Preview
Welcome Back: AM Racing returns to the ARCA Menards Series full-time in 2024 with sophomore Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) driver Christian Rose behind the wheel of the team’s No. 32 Ford Mustang, continuing with Friday night’s Reese’s 150 at Kansas Speedway.
The 2024 ARCA Menards Series season will mark the first time that AM Racing has competed back-to-back full-time in the NASCAR-owned development series since three-time ARCA Menards Series winner Gus Dean drove for the organization during the 2017 – 2018 seasons, respectively. (more…)
NASCAR Cup Series: Kansas Speedway Drops the Green Flag on the Playoffs’ Round of 12
After an eventful NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs’ Round of 16 elimination race at Bristol Motor Speedway, the 16 postseason contenders have been reduced to 12 and now have to turn their attention to the 1.5-mile Kansas Speedway for the Hollywood Casino 400 Presented By ESPN BET on Sunday, September 29 at 3 p.m. ET on USA, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. Kansas is the first of three tracks in the Round of 12, alongside Talladega Superspeedway and the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval.
Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson dominated the race at Bristol last weekend, winning both stages and leading a race-high 462 laps in the event – the most laps led at Bristol since NASCAR Hall of Famer Cale Yarborough led 495 in 1977. As a result, Larson banked seven more Playoff points and is back atop the point standings following the reseeding for the Round of 12, +15 points up on Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell in second.
NASCAR Xfinity Series Following the Yellow Brick Road All the Way to Kansas Speedway
The NASCAR Xfinity Series wrapped up the regular season last weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway and will now be kicking off the 2024 Playoffs at Kansas Speedway with the Kansas Lottery 300 on Saturday, September 28 at 4 p.m. ET on The CW, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio – the Round of 12 opener.
Kansas Speedway, located just outside of Kansas City, Kansas, is a 1.5-mile track with variable banking in the turns (17 to 20 degrees). It has hosted 24 NASCAR Xfinity Series races, producing 18 different race winners and 17 different pole winners.
Only two of the Kansas Xfinity races have been won from the pole or first starting position, most recently by Kyle Busch in 2016. Not only is Busch the last driver to win from the pole, but he also holds the record for most wins (four), top fives (eight), laps led (544), and is tied with Justin Allgaier for most top 10s at 10 each.
CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Playoffs’ Round of 10 Finale Headed to Kansas
The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series returns to Kansas Speedway this weekend, and this time it’s to decide which eight postseason contenders will move on to the next round in the Playoffs’ Round of 10 finale – the Kubota Tractor 200 (Friday, September 27 at 8:30 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN, and SiriusXM Radio).
To date, the 1.5-mile track has hosted 28 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series races, producing 24 different winners and 18 different pole winners. The winningest driver in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, Kyle Busch, and veteran Matt Crafton hold the most wins in the heartland with three apiece.
Four races have been won from the pole, most recently by John Hunter Nemechek in 2022.
Rick Ware Racing: Corey LaJoie/Kaz Grala Kansas Advance
Corey LaJoie, driver of the No. 51 Children’s Mercy Kansas City Ford Mustang Dark Horse, will make his first start for Rick Ware Racing (RWR) Sunday at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City. LaJoie has 12 previous Cup Series starts at the 1.5-mile oval. His best finish there was a 19th-place result earned in May 2022.
Kaz Grala is set to make his first Kansas start in the NASCAR Cup Series in Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400. Grala has two NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at the 1.5-mile oval – a 13th-place finish from the third starting position in July 2020, and a 10th-place finish from the 31st starting position in September 2023. Max Lanza Will Chase the Challenger Trophy Title in the Zolder Finals
Oschersleben, Germania – It was a challenging weekend for Max Lanza in Germany, stage of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series SemiFinals. The Roman driver responded to difficult qualifying by securing a podium finish in the Challenger Trophy in Race 1, but in the second race he was forced to stop after just a few meters. His chances of winning the category title remain intact, with 13 points to recover and a total of 172 up for grabs! (more…)
Michael McDowell & Horizon Hobby Head Back to the Kansas Heartland
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (September 25, 2024) – Michael McDowell and the No. 34 team are back in the Heartland this weekend to take on the Kansas Speedway.
McDowell returns to Kansas after an 11th-place run at the Bristol Night Race and is looking to improve on his Top-10 finish from the Kansas spring race earlier this year. His 10th-place result was his best career-finish at the 1.5-mile Speedway.
