BRASELTON, Georgia (April 25, 2025) – A stout field of small-bore classics delivered big-time excitement in the opening race of the 47th HSR The Mitty Presented by Hagerty at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta with a close and competitive SascoSports International/American Challenge sprint Friday afternoon. The race set the stage for a full weekend ahead of additional HSR Feature Races, WeatherTech Sprints and a pair of B.R.M Endurance Challenge rounds on Saturday and Sunday.

BRASELTON, Georgia (April 25, 2025) – Officials from Michelin North America, Inc. and Historic Sportscar Racing (HSR) today announced a multi-year agreement that will see the iconic tire maker become an official partner of HSR, the premier sanctioning body in North America for historic and vintage motorsports competition.
In addition to having a presence and branding at every event on the HSR season championship schedule, Michelin also has been named the official presenting sponsor and the official tire of the HSR Prototype Challenge presented by Michelin, a series featuring modern prototypes retired from contemporary competition.
IMSA Riding New Wave of Emerging GTP Talents
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Every “era” of sports car racing has its iconic performers. In IMSA’s more than 50-year history, that’s broken down by top-class periods of who’s starred in prototypes.
With the reborn Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) class now three years into the formula, there’s a pattern of stars starting to emerge. There are long-time prototype drivers who raced in the previous Daytona Prototype international (DPi) and Daytona Prototype and/or Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) iterations before GTP competing alongside those whose main top-class experience is focused on GTP.
