Todd Gilliland Debuts New Frontline Enterprises Scheme at the Bristol Motor Speedway

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (September 18, 2024) – The Bristol Night Race is next on the NASCAR Cup Series calendar with Todd Gilliland and the No. 38 team making their second visit of the season to the Last Great Colosseum.

Coming off of a Top-20 finish at Watkins Glens International, Gilliland and the No. 38 team look to bounce back with a strong result at the 0.5-mile track. Frontline Enterprises will debut a new, all-white scheme for the No. 38 Ford Mustang Dark Horse. (more…)

Hendrick Motorsports Media Advance: Bristol

At least three Hendrick Motorsports drivers have finished in the top 10 in the last four races at Bristol Motor Speedway, the longest such streak by any organization at the track in history.
All four Hendrick Motorsports pit crews rank in the top eight in terms of average time for a four-tire pit stop. That list is topped by the No. 9 over-the-wall squad at 10.83 seconds. Chase Elliott’s crew also turned in the fastest individual four-tire stop of the season with a time of 9.076 seconds at Texas Motor Speedway in April.
In 78 races at Bristol, Hendrick Motorsports has accumulated 69 top-five showings and 121 top 10s, leading in both categories among NASCAR Cup Series teams all time.
Hendrick Motorsports has gone to victory lane 58 times in playoff races, 21 more than any other team.

Ryan Truex / No. 20 Gazoo Racing Toyota GR Supra Preview – Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway

TRUEX AT BRISTOL: Ryan Truex and the No. 20 Toyota Certified Collision Center GR Supra crew head to Bristol this weekend for the Food City 300. Truex has four prior NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at the high-banked, half-mile short track, which includes, two top-10s and an average finish of 15.5. Truex has a best finish of 10^th at Bristol which he scored twice, with one in 2012 and the second coming in 2018.
LAST TIME OUT: Truex’s last start at Atlanta has its ups and downs. After starting seventh, Truex got in the wall early and fell out of the front-running pack for most of the race. Despite the setback, Truex slowly worked his way back through the field and managed to sneak back into the top-10 to come home with a 10^th place finish on the day.

Christopher Bell – No. 20 DEWALT Toyota Camry XSE Preview – Bass Pro Shops Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway

BELL AT BRISTOL: Christopher Bell’s best NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) Bristol finish came in the night race last year where he qualified on the pole, led 187 laps and finished third. Overall, Bell has earned two top-five and four top-10 finishes at Bristol. The Oklahoma native also has four NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) starts at Bristol, including a win in April 2019 and a runner-up finish in August 2018. Additionally, Bell has three NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series starts at BMS highlighted by a pole and two top-10 finishes.
BRISTOL DIRT WINNER: Bell won the dirt race at Bristol in April 2023. After starting fourth, he led the final 100 laps to take home the win.

Bed Bath & Beyond Racing: Josh Berry Bristol Advance

The opening round of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs wraps up Saturday night at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway, and while Josh Berry missed this year’s playoffs, the 33-year-old rookie remains very much in contention for the Sunoco Rookie of the Year crown. “The Last Great Colosseum” is expected to be a competitive track for the driver of the No. 4 Bed Bath & Beyond Ford Mustang Dark Horse. A native of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Berry narrowly missed qualifying on the pole in his Cup Series debut on his home-state track’s concrete surface last March. From his second starting spot, he persevered through challenging tire-wear issues that affected the racing throughout the field that day, finishing 10^th in the opening stage on his way to taking the checkered flag 12^th. William Sawalich – No. 18 Starkey/SoundGear Toyota Camry Preview – Bush’s Beans 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway

SAWALICH AT BRISTOL: William Sawalich is the defending winner of the ARCA Menards Series East (AMSE) race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Last year, Sawalich made a late-race pass for the lead to claim the race win after clinching the AMSE championship earlier in the night. Thursday night’s race is the AMSE season finale. Sawalich currently sits second in the championship points standings, 16 points behind leader Connor Zilisch. Sawalich will run double-duty on Thursday as the climbs behind the wheel of the No. 1 Toyota Tundra for TRICON Garage after the AMSE race.
2023 ARCA EAST CHAMPION: Sawalich claimed the 2023 AMSE championship at Bristol Motor Speedway. He ended the AMSE season with four wins and finished in the top-five in all eight races on the AMSE schedule. He became the second AMSE champion for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) and the first Minnesotan to win the series championship.

Chandler Smith – No. 81 Mobil 1 Toyota GR Supra Preview – Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway

SMITH AT BRISTOL: Chandler Smith made his first NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) start at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) last year and finished in the top-five. Smith also has four NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series starts, including a 2021 win, at the World’s Fastest Half-Mile.
WATKINS GLEN RECAP: Smith ran in the top-10 consistently during last weekend’s NXS race at Watkins Glen after qualifying sixth. The driver of the No. 81 picked up a couple of positions to finish fourth in the first stage. Strategy played into flipping the second stage to start up front in the final stretch of the race. Smith survived two overtime restarts to collect another top-five with a fourth-place finish.

Riley Herbst hopes to keep his strong runs rolling Friday night under the lights in the Food City 300 at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. While the driver of the No. 98 Monster Energy Ford Mustang Dark Horse earned a 13th-place finish last Saturday at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) Michael McDowell and Love’s/Peak Return to Bristol for Annual Night Race

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (September 18, 2024) – The Bristol Night Race is next on the NASCAR Cup Series calendar with Michael McDowell and the No. 34 team making their second return of the season to the Last Great Colosseum.

McDowell returns to the World’s Fastest Half-Mile coming off a recent Top-10 at Watkins Glen International, last weekend. His best career-finish at Bristol came last year when he finished sixth in the fall event, he also finished 11th in the spring race earlier this year. (more…)

JR Motorsports at Bristol Motor Speedway: JR Motorsports has competed at Bristol Motor Speedway a combined 93 times in the NXS since its first trip there in 2006. In those starts at the .533-mile short-track, the organization has recorded four wins, 25 top-fives and 56 top-10s, with an average finish of 12.7. (more…)
