LONG BEACH, California (April 19, 2024) — The Motorsports Hall of Fame of America (MSHFA) announced its 2025 Induction Class today at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. With six different winners in the first nine races of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season, this weekend’s GEICO 500 (Sunday, April 21 at 3 p.m. ET on FOX, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) offers a plethora of opportunity for a seventh different winner to pull into Victory Lane and secure their spot in the Playoffs.
With the trip to Victory Lane at Texas Motor Speedway, Sam Mayer pocketed the $100,000 bonus and secured his spot in this weekend’s Dash 4 Cash run at Talladega Superspeedway, and will be joined by RSS Racing’s Ryan Sieg, JR Motorsport’s Justin Allgaier and Kaulig Racing’s AJ Allmendinger to compete in the third installment of Dash 4 Cash.
Of the four drivers vying for the Dash 4 Cash this weekend at Talladega, only one has a previous win at the superspeedway.
The NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series is taking two weekends off while the Xfinity Series and Cup Series tackle the high banks of Talladega Superspeedway and then head to the concrete oval of Dover Motor Speedway.
The CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will return to competition under the lights at Kansas Speedway for the Heart Of America 200 (Saturday, May 4 at 8 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN, and SiriusXM Radio).
NASCAR legend Richard Petty feels that this (point) system is “not right” and needs to be done away with, as he said on his X account: “I think NASCAR ought to do away with stage points altogether myself. BURBANK, CA (APRIL 11, 2024) – The CW Network today announced it will be the exclusive broadcast home for the final eight races of the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series this fall. Live coverage begins on Friday, September 20 with the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway. The series continues through the fall with the final seven Xfinity Playoff races of the season, culminating in the Xfinity Series Championship from Phoenix Raceway on Saturday, November 9.
Through 43 NASCAR Cup Series races held at Texas Motor Speedway, 76% of them have been won from a top-10 starting position, making Busch Light Pole Qualifying on Saturday, April 13 (10:30 a.m. ET on FS1, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) especially significant to the teams this weekend.
The third starting position is the most proficient starting position in the field producing more winners (eight) than any other starting spot on the grid.
