Zane Smith Going For Third Truck Series Win of 2022 at Martinsville

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (April 6, 2022) – Zane Smith, driver of the No. 38 Ford F-150 for Front Row Motorsports, is the only one in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with two victories after coming away with a win two weeks ago at Circuit of the Americas.  Smith also won the last time the series headed to this week’s stop – Martinsville Speedway.  He was a guest today on a Ford-hosted media call and spoke with reporters about his season. Derek Griffith Heads To Martinsville For Second Xfinity Series Start With Sam Hunt Racing

Rising star Derek Griffith is heading to Martinsville Speedway this Friday, April 8, to make his second NASCAR Xfinity Series start with Sam Hunt Racing in the Call 811 Before You Dig 250. Griffith finished 26th in his Xfinity Series debut driving the No. 26 Toyota GR Supra last weekend at Richmond Raceway, gaining crucial experience, which will help him rolling into the tight confines of Martinsville.

With the laps winding down, it looked like William Byron was going to win his second race of the year and extend the number of races won by drivers under 30 years of age. Stage 2 winner Martin Truex, Jr. had made his bid to close on young Byron but his tires were giving out, lapped traffic cane into play and he couldn’t get any closer than 2 seconds behind.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series was won by Ty Gibbs with Jeb Burton placing 11th, Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT was 12th, Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT came in 16th, Brett Moffit was 25th and Derek Griffith of Hudson, NH finished 26th  Burton, Alfredo and Moffit all are members of Cape Cod’s Chris and Mary Our’s Xfinity team.  The couple reside in Harwich, MA.
