The NASCAR Xfinity Series was won by Ty Gibbs with Jeb Burton placing 11th, Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT was 12th, Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT came in 16th, Brett Moffit was 25th and Derek Griffith of Hudson, NH finished 26th Burton, Alfredo and Moffit all are members of Cape Cod’s Chris and Mary Our’s Xfinity team. The couple reside in Harwich, MA.
Here’s what happened in NASCAR Cup race on Sunday. Denny Hamlin drove his Toyota to victory in front of a home town crowd becoming the seventh different Cup winner of the 2022 season. Joey Logano of Middletown, CT came in 17th. Not so lucky was Corey LaJoie who finished his day in 31st place. Corey is the son of two-time NASCAR Xfinity Champion Randy LaJoie who grew up in Norwalk, CT.
