Gary Putnam Named NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Series Director
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Nov. 10, 2025) – NASCAR announced today that Gary Putnam has been named the new Series Director for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, becoming the fifth person to hold the position in the Tour’s storied history. Putnam succeeds Jimmy Wilson, who has overseen the series since 2013. Earlier this year, Wilson accepted the role of Sr. Technical Director of NASCAR Regional.
Putnam joins an esteemed line of Series Directors that includes Jerry Cook (1985–1992), Ed Cox (1993–2007), Chad Little (2008–2012), and Jimmy Wilson (2013–2025). His appointment marks a new chapter for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour as it enters its 41st season in 2026.
Ryan Ellis Joins Young’s Motorsports for 2026 O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Season
MOORESVILLE, N.C.: Young’s Motorsports confirmed today that Ashburn, Va., native Ryan Ellis will join the team for the full 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season, beginning with the United Rentals 300 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
Ellis joins the family-owned organization under a multi-year agreement, with 2026 marking his third full-time season in the newly rebranded series. He looks to build on his experience of 164 career series starts to date.
Race of Champions Management Negotiating New 2026 Plans; Adjusts Holland Speedway Date

Trackhouse Gears Up for 2026 Season
Concord, North Carolina – Trackhouse Racing announced today personnel changes and car number adjustments for the winning three car organization.
Ross Chastain will continue to pilot the No. 1 Chevrolet as he has done since 2022. Brandon McSwain joins Trackhouse Racing from Hendrick Motorsports to lead Chastain and the No. 1 team. McSwain spent the past several seasons as race engineer at JR Motorsports and Hendrick Motorsports. Most recently, he served as lead race engineer for William Byron and the No. 24 team. Chastain’s crew chief for the past five seasons, Phil Surgen, has moved to another role within the organization.
