STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 2, 2024 – The NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs continue with NBC Sports’ presentation of the YellaWood 500 live from Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Ala., this Sunday, Oct. 6, at 2 p.m. ET on NBC. A 45-minute Countdown to Green Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ET on NBC leads into live race coverage. Talladega is the first of six consecutive Cup Series playoff races to be presented live on NBC, culminating in the Cup Series Championship on Nov. 10.

Danny Efland to Lead Harrison Burton at AM Racing in 2025

STATESVILLE, N.C.: AM Racing happily announced today the addition of Danny Efland, who will serve as crew chief for recently announced 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Harrison Burton, beginning with the season-opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway on February 15, 2025.

Efland will arrive at AM Racing after a stint at LEGACY MOTOR CLUB, where the former NASCAR Xfinity Series driver served as the lead engineer for the No. 43 Cup Series car driven by Erik Jones. (more…)

NASCAR Implementing Aerodynamic Changes to Cup Cars for Talladega

NASCAR will institute aerodynamic changes to all Cup Series cars ahead of Sunday’s Round of 12 playoff race at Talladega Superspeedway, the sanctioning body announced Tuesday.

Among the mandated additions will be an extended-height roof rail, an extended rocker panel skirt and fabric beneath the right-side roof flap. These combined efforts are intended to reduce the chances and effects of a vehicle getting airborne in the event of an on-track, high-speed incident on the 2.66-mile superspeedway.

Michael Jordan-led lawsuit says NASCAR, France family are ‘monopolistic bullies’

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two NASCAR teams — one of them co-owned by Michael Jordan — filed a federal antitrust lawsuit against the stock car series and chairman Jim France on Wednesday, claiming the new charter system limits competition by unfairly binding teams to the series, its tracks and its suppliers.

23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports filed suit in the Western District of North Carolina in Charlotte after two years of contentious negotiations between the privately owned National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing and the 15 charter-holding organizations in the Cup Series, the organization’s top series. The RB7 Formula One car, a McLaren drift hypercar, a rallycross car, and an off-road Pro4 truck meet on a purposefully modified racetrack to showcase their unique features and impressive abilities.

AO Racing Announces 2025 IMSA WeatherTech Return of Spike and Rexy

CHARLES, Ill., (October 2, 2024) – AO Racing is proud to announce the return of the fan-favorite characters of Spike to the LMP2 class and Rexy to the GTD PRO class in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Further details are pending and will be announced at a later date, but the team’s future looks bright as they head into the final race of the season with next year’s plans confirmed.

Josh St. Clair Wins 2nd Consecutive Strictly Shootout at Wiscasset Speedway

Wiscasset Speedway closed out their 2024 points season on Saturday and celebrated by hosting their biggest Strictly Street race of the year; the Strictly Shootout presented by Thayer’s Automotive. With a guaranteed $600 winner’s payout and thousands of dollars of contingency prizes on the line, 40 drivers showed up to shoot their shot at making it into the big dance.

The racing action kicked off with three extended 12-lap heat races for the Strictly Shootout, where the top 6 drivers from each qualifier would advance into the big show. Dan Brown, Dan McKeage, Jr. and Landon Tapley won these heats while heavy hitters like Jordan Russell, Nate Leavitt, Zack Emerson and others were forced into consolation races.

Todd Gilliland Takes on Talladega with Georgia Peanuts

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (October 1, 2024) – Todd Gilliland is back in the infamous Georgia Peanuts Ford Mustang Dark Horse this weekend at the Talladega Superspeedway.

Gilliland has shown much speed on superspeedways this season, leading laps in the Daytona 500 and NASCAR’s first visit to the Atlanta (Ga.) Motor Speedway. Gilliland has also qualified within the Top-5 in three of the four superspeedway races this season and hopes to continue that this weekend.
