Posey, Barber, Guthrie, Dyson’s & Maggiacomo’s To Be Honored At Legends Day At New England Racing Museum

LOUDON, NH: The museum’s annual Legends Day event will take place on Sunday November 17th at the New England Racing Museum (922 Rt. 106, Loudon, NH). Headlining will be seven road racers who had major success across the New England region. Sam Posey, Skip Barber, Janet Guthrie, Rob Dyson, Chris Dyson, Jocko Maggiacomo Sr and Jocko Maggiacomo Jr will be honored. The event will include an honoree panel discussion, permanent banner unveiling and a buffet lunch. A VIP ticket is available in which you can meet the attending honorees in a small group setting for a photo opportunity, join a private museum tour led by founder Dick Berggren and premier event seating. The event is supported by Lime Rock Park and Thompson Speedway and is a fundraiser for the nonprofit museum. (more…)

Round Two Of Sunoco Drive For The Cup Playoff Racing This Weekend At Seekonk Speedway

Just three weeks remain in the weekly racing season for 2024 at Seekonk Speedway. This Friday and Saturday night, the Sunoco Drive For The Cup playoffs continue with racing across nine different Seekonk divisions.

The battle is on to gain as many playoff points as possible in all divisions, as drivers continue to try and etch their name into the Final Four. It all begins on Friday night at 7 p.m. with five divisions of racing, followed by another four divisions of NASCAR Saturday racing at 6 p.m. On NASCAR Saturday, the East Coast Towing & Recovery Spectator Drags also will join the show for the final time during a weekly racing event this season. (Nashville, TN) Track Enterprises, LLC will continue as the racing promoter at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway for the 2025 racing season, following Tuesday, September 10 Fairgrounds Nashville board meeting.

Track Enterprises has been the primary promoter at the track since 2020, after handling the ARCA race promotion at the speedway from 2015-2019. In addition to several local events, the promotion group set up marquee events such as ARCA, CRA, Southern Super Series, ASA, The All American 400 weekend, SRX, and more. (more…)

21 Freightliner Team Hoping To Score Points at the  Glen

After coming just a half a straightaway shy of leaving Atlanta Motor Speedway with a much-needed good points day, Harrison Burton and the No. 21 Freightliner team are headed to Watkins Glen International hoping to battle their way back into a position to advance to Round Two of the Cup Series Playoffs.

This weekend’s Go Bowling at the Glen on the road course at Watkins Glen, N.Y., is the second of three races in the Round of 16, and Burton and the Wood Brothers are 14th in the standings, 16 points behind 12th place. After the race at Bristol the following week, the bottom four drivers in the Playoff standings will be eliminated from championship contention. (more…)

Parker Kligerman announced on his podcast “The Money Lap” that he won’t be returning to Big Machine Racing for the 2025 Xfinity Series season and is done pursuing full-time rides at NASCAR.

Kligerman returned as a full-time competitor in 2023, after more than a decade of making sporadic starts for multiple teams across all three national touring levels. He finished the 2023 season 10th in the championship standings, with a career-high eight top-five finishes. (more…)

Sadler-Stanley Racing Marches Forward To Dominion Raceway

Three Pace-O-Matic Entries Ready For Battle in The Flying VA Classic

The Sadler-Stanley Racing, Pace-O-Matic team heads for the next SMART Modified Tour event this Saturday evening. At Dominion Raceway, the team will bring three entries – Luke Baldwin, Jonathan Cash and Bobby Labonte – to chase the checkered flag in the Flying VA Classic.

With just four races remaining in the championship battle for 2024, the Dominion event will mark the final cutoff for the SMART Modified Tour playoff field. The SMART playoff field after this event will include the top-five drivers in the championship standings. At this point, Pace-O-Matic team driver Luke Baldwin is third in the standings and in position to qualify. If he can seal the deal, the Racing Electronics Rookie of the Year contender and one-time feature winner (South Boston) will chase the championship.

Mohawk Northeast Racing: Ryan Preece Watkins Glen Advance

●  The Go Bowling at The Glen Sunday at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International is the fourth of five road-course races on the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series schedule. Ryan Preece, driver of the No. 41 Mohawk Northeast Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Stewart-Haas Racing, finished 23rd in the series’ first road-course race of the year March 24 at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas. He then placed 18th in the series’ second road-course stop June 9 at Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway. In his most recent road-course start on the streets of downtown Chicago for the July 7 Grant Park 165, Preece finished 34th. After Watkins Glen, the final road-course race of the year takes place Oct. 12 on the Charlotte (N.C.) Motor Speedway Roval.

●  Sunday’s race will mark Preece’s fourth NASCAR Cup Series start at Watkins Glen. Best among his three previous starts was his most recent, a 17th-place drive from the 30th starting position in August 2023. Preece’s first two Cup Series starts at 2.45-mile, seven-turn road course came with JTG Daugherty Racing in 2019 and 2021, which resulted in finishes of 36th and 28th, respectively. (more…)
