Waterbury, VT —Williamstown, VT’s Jimmy Hebert kept up a remarkable late-season rebirth by taking his third American-Canadian Tour (ACT) win of the year in the Fall Foliage 200 at North Woodstock, NH’s White Mountain Motorsports Park on Sunday, September 26. Hebert ran down North Dartmouth, MA’s Derek Gluchacki and went three-wide with 26 laps to go for the victory and a $5,000 winner’s purse.
Waterbury, VT — The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) completes the season trifecta at North Woodstock, NH’s White Mountain Motorsports Park this Sunday, September 26. The $5,000-to-win Fall Foliage 200 concludes a two-day, nine-division festival of racing that begins the final quarter of the ACT season.
Over the first 115-laps of the Miller Lite 200 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at Riverhead Raceway Saturday a combination of Tom Rogers Jr. of Riverhead, Dave Brigati of Calverton and Kyle Soper of Manorville showed the way. For awhile it appeared Ed Brunnhoelzl Jr. who was the last Riverhead regular to win a WMT race in 1995 would witness that 26-year mark erased. Then the second half of the race unfolded with WMT championship contender Patrick Emerling of Orchard Park, NY taking the lead on lap 116 from Soper to score the victory. (more…)
WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Zach Sobotka was already having a dream weekend when he arrived at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on the morning of Sunday, September 5, and he headed home with an even bigger highlight and a huge paycheck. The 26-year-old opened his Labor Day holiday weekend by winning at Brewerton (N.Y.) Speedway and clinching that track’s Sportsman Modified championship on Friday night, and he wrapped it up by capturing the Fabian Earth Moving Vermont 200 and pocketing $12,942 in winnings on Sunday. WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Jimmy Ryan had gone two years without winning a Sportsman Modified race at Devil’s Bowl Speedway until he scored on July 31. The next win took just four weeks, but that’s only part of the story. The Shoreham, Vt., veteran’s win was the highlight of The Stove Depot Night on Saturday, August 28, and Troy Audet, Chris Murray, Austin McKirryher, Willie Rice, Kamden Duffy, and Cody Greene also visited the winner’s circle. Barre, VT — Braintree’s George Hoyt proved that steady and sure wins the race by triumphing in the 37th Bolduc Metal Recycling Enduro 200 at Barre’s Thunder Road on Sunday, August 8. Hoyt inherited the lead after previous Enduro winner Richie Turner crashed out with less than 20 laps to go and bested the 118-car field for a $3,000 winner’s purse. (more…)
