NMPA to Present Myers Brothers Award to FOX NASCAR Play-by-Play Announcer Mike Joy Friday in Daytona

NASCAR on FoxThe National Motorsports Press Association (NMPA) will present FOX Sports play-by-play announcer Mike Joy the prestigious Myers Brothers Award on Friday, Feb. 13, at 2:30 PM ET in the Daytona International Speedway media center deadline room.

 Joy, who has led the FOX NASCAR broadcast team since 2001, FOX’s first year as a NASCAR broadcast partner, this week marks the 47th Daytona 500 for which he has been a part of live TV or radio coverage and his 57th year in motorsports broadcasting. He calls this year’s “Great American Race” on FOX on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 2:30 PM ET.

(May 13, 2025) – As Wood Brothers Racing celebrates their 75th year in 2025, North Wilkesboro Speedway will honor the team with dignitary roles for the NASCAR All-Star Race on May 18. Founded in 1950 by brothers Glenn and Leonard Wood, the oldest active NASCAR team has participated in races at the historic facility since 1957, shortly after the track was paved for the first time.

Josh Berry’s victory in Sunday’s Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway wasn’t a bolt from the blue like Trevor Bayne’s win in the 2011 Daytona 500.

It wasn’t a parting shot like Harrison Burton’s superspeedway victory in last summer’s Daytona race.
