DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. and LOS ANGELES (January 27, 2026) – NASCAR Studios and FOX Sports today announced We’ve Lost Dale Earnhardt: 25 Years Later, a powerful new original documentary marking the 25th anniversary of the 2001 Daytona 500, the race that forever changed NASCAR and American motorsports. Premiering Thursday, February 12 at 10 p.m. ET following the NASCAR Cup Series America 250 Duels on FS1, the film is told through exclusive first-person accounts, rare home video, archival broadcast footage, and cinematic storytelling, revisiting the death of seven-time NASCAR champion Dale Earnhardt and examining the profound ripple effects that continue to shape the sport and its culture 25 years later.
The National Motorsports Press Association (NMPA) will present FOX Sports play-by-play announcer Mike Joy the prestigious Myers Brothers Award on Friday, Feb. 13, at 2:30 PM ET in the Daytona International Speedway media center deadline room.
Joy, who has led the FOX NASCAR broadcast team since 2001, FOX’s first year as a NASCAR broadcast partner, this week marks the 47th Daytona 500 for which he has been a part of live TV or radio coverage and his 57th year in motorsports broadcasting. He calls this year’s “Great American Race” on FOX on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 2:30 PM ET.
