Kyle Larson to Make Indy 500 Return in 2025

The most popular driver and entry from May’s Indianapolis 500 will return in 2025 and take another shot at winning ‘The Greatest Spectacle In Racing’ with an entry for Kyle Larson from Arrow McLaren/Hendrick Motorsports as part of their second attempt to do ‘The Double.’

The NASCAR Cup champion starred all month in his rookie appearance at the 500 in the No. 17 Chevy and was only limited by errors due to his inexperience in an IndyCar, and a downpour that delayed the race and derailed his plans to contest the 600-mile NASCAR race immediately after the 500 in Charlotte. Coleman and Telitz Take On 24H Barcelona with Optimum Motorsport

Harvick Accuses Ford of Wanting SHR to Lose: ‘They Want Their Cars to Win’

Kevin Harvick has accused Ford of undermining Stewart-Haas Racing to favor its other teams, asserting that Ford prefers its cars to win over SHR’s. Harvick, a big figure at SHR during his NASCAR Cup Series career, offered this insight following his departure after the 2023 season and amid SHR’s struggling 2024 performance.

The 2024 season for SHR has been a challenging one, with Chase Briscoe assuming the role of leading driver after Harvick’s exit. However, Briscoe managed a vital victory at Darlington, securing a playoff spot and providing a significant morale boost to a team that needed it. (more…)

Timmy Solomito Repeats In Riverhead Raceway Cecil Palm Tree 66 Wednesday

For the second consecutive season, the Cecil Palm Tree 160 was adversely affected by weather the original date forcing Riverhead Raceway management to reschedule the race run in honor of Eddie Partridge. The race was shifted to Wednesday night, the distance again modified to 66 laps, which was just fine with defending race winner Timmy Solomito of Islip who led all the way scoring his third win of 2024.

Solomito set the tone in qualifying laying down a lap of 11.750 with Mark Stewart and John Beatty Jr. clicking off identical laps of 11.815. It would be Stewart lining-up alongside Solomito as the field took the green from Partridge’s nephew Tom Gatz and daughter Alexis. Solomito, winner of the most recent event at Riverhead winning the Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 on August 17th broke right to the lead with Stewart right behind.

Not so fortunate was Boston’s Kaz Grala who placed 24th. Note that Corey LaJoie is the son of Randy La Joie of Norwalk, CT who was a two-time NASCAR Xfinity Champion,
