One of the most anticipated race weekends in recent memory is finally here! The NASCAR Xfinity Series drivers are loading up their cars and getting ready to zoom through the streets of Downtown Chicago for the inaugural The Loop 121 on Saturday, July 1 at 5 p.m. ET on the USA Network, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR radio.
After soaking up the only off weekend of the season, the competitors in the NASCAR Cup Series prepare for one of the schedule’s most unique tracks in Nashville Superspeedway with this Sunday’s Ally 400 at 7 p.m. ET on NBC, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (Channel 90). The D-shaped, concrete oval that stretches 1.33-miles, is the longest concrete surface track on the 2023 schedule and will have drivers and team dancing to find the perfect set-up in their cars for this weekend.
Stewart-Haas Racing’s Cole Custer lands his first road course win
JR Motorsports’ Justin Allgaier appeared to have the race at Portland International Raceway in the bag last weekend, which would’ve made him the first back-to-back winner of the 2023 season. But he got knocked out in Turn 1, ultimately giving Stewart-Haas Racing’s Cole Custer a straight shot to Victory Lane.
As it has each year for nearly a decade, the NASCAR community will come together to formally honor and recognize the United States Armed Forces during Military Appreciation Month through the annual NASCAR Salutes Together with Coca-Cola program.
This marks the ninth season of NASCAR Salutes Together with Coca-Cola celebrating the service and sacrifice of U.S. military members and their families through a multitude of at track integrations, original content features and fan engagement opportunities.
After a week off, the NASCAR Xfinity Series will be heading back to the high-speed action at Charlotte Motor Speedway at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 27 for the Alsco Uniforms 300 on FS1, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR radio.
This weekend will be a special one, as NASCAR and Xfinity Series teams will honor the military and their families as they compete in the 12th race of the 2023 season.
A break in the action: Charlotte Motor Speedway up next for the Xfinity Series
After a wild finish at Darlington Raceway last weekend that saw NASCAR Cup Series star Kyle Larson in the No. 10 Chevrolet for Kaulig Racing snatch the checkered flag from Joe Gibbs Racing’s John Hunter Nemechek on the final lap, the NASCAR Xfinity Series will be taking a break before heading back to the action at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 27 for the Alsco Uniforms 300 (FS1, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio). Most drivers dream of the opportunity to post a win at their hometown track and last weekend, Ryan Truex was able to make that dream a reality. It wasn’t just an ordinary win for the Mayetta, N.J. native – it was his first-ever in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
Truex came into the race strong, finding his way to the front on Lap 34. He swept both stages and ultimately led a career-high 124 of the 200 laps.
NASCAR Xfinity Series drivers will need to bring their A-game for the A-Game 200 at Dover Motor Speedway (1:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 29 on FS1, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR radio) for their 10th race of the 2023 season.
Joey Logano and teammate Ryan Blaney made up the front row one-two and finished the race the same way. Ford dominated the race with the two drivers leading a combined 296 of the 312 laps. Logano led 187 laps, Blaney 109.
Christopher Bell was in a must win situation entering the Charlotte Roval and his team delivered with a fresh tire call that helped push him past leader Kevin Harvick.
That win plus an unfortunate smack of the wall eliminated reigning champ Kyle Larson.
