DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Each and every season the Michelin GT Challenge at VIRginia International Raceway is the chance for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s Grand Touring Daytona Pro (GTD PRO) and Grand Touring Daytona (GTD) competitors to strut their stuff in the spotlight. They seldom disappoint, and this year was no exception.
Not only were the identities of the victors in both categories in some doubt right up until the checkered flag, so were the identities of the rest of the podium finishers. The top three in GTD PRO were covered by five seconds while the GTD podium was blanketed by 2.7 seconds.

BRASELTON, Georgia (April 27, 2024) – Starting from the pole and maintaining control throughout the 90-minute race, Pierce Marshall and Eric Foss co-drove the Matador Motorsports 2017 No. 02 Cadillac DPi to their first HSR Prototype Challenge presented by Michelin victory late Saturday afternoon at the 47th HSR The Mitty presented by Hagerty.
Opening driver Marshall led the field to the start from the pole and built an early lead despite a full-course caution at the 10-minute mark. Foss later took over and further gapped the field in the final run to the finish, only to see a late caution once again close up the field.
Podium For New Corvette and Steller Motorsport on Debut at Paul Ricard
After much anticipation and a rigorous preseason testing programme, it was finally time for Steller Motorsport to make its racing debut with its new Corvette Z06 GT3.R, a debut marked with a podium finish in the opening round of the GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS at Circuit Paul Ricard, after finishing second in the Silver Cup class after a hard-fought six-hour endurance battle. Steller Motorsport Ready To Unleash New Corvette Z06 GT3.R at Season-Opener
Steller Motorsport is set to embark on a bold new chapter this weekend, as it prepares to debut its brand-new Corvette Z06 GT3.R in the opening round of the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup at Circuit Paul Ricard, France.
The six-hour endurance race, taking place on Saturday 12 April, marks the team’s first competitive outing with the highly anticipated GT3 machine, following an intensive preseason testing program across Europe, including circuits in Spain, France, Germany, and the UK.
