Spire MotorsportsIn four NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series starts at Richmond (Va.) Raceway, Spire Motorsports has earned two top-20 finishes. Rajah Caruth, driver of the team’s No. 71 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Silverado, collected a team-best 17th-place finish at the facility last August. The Mooresville, N.C., organization fields the Nos. 7, 71 and 77 Chevrolets full time in the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series. The No. 7 entry will see a rotating roster of all-star caliber drivers throughout the remainder of the season, while Rajah Caruth and NASCAR Cup Series veteran Corey LaJoie will pilot the Nos. 71 and 77, respectively.

Here’s Lou Modestino and his Track Talk column, reporting on northeastern motorsports competitors’ results from the past weekend…
Shane Van Gisbergen won the Cup race at Watkins Glen, NY.   Ryan Preece of Berlin, CT came 13th.  Joey Logano of Middletown, CT finished 14th.
Corner Zilisch won the Xfinity race.  Boston’s Kaz Grala ended up 11th driving the Chris and Mary Our entry from Cape Cod, MA   Anthony Alfredo of Ridgefield, CT wasn’t so luck and had to settle for 32nd.  Ditto for Thomas Anziana of Colt’s Neck, NJ, whoended his day in 37th.
The Craftsman Trucks had Corey Heim go to victory Lane.  Gio Ruggiero of Seekonk, MA placed third while Parker Kligerman of Weston, CT came in 31st.
The ARCA Menard’s Series was also at the Glen which saw Tristen McKee going to Victory Lane while Dale Quarterly, originally from Hanover, MA,  finished fifth.  Andy Jankowiak of Buffalo, NY came in seventh.
On the West Coast the Indy Cars were in action in Portland, OR with Will Power the first to get the checkered flag.  Not so lucky was Santino Ferrucci of Woodbury, CT who ended his day in 27th position.

Andrés Pérez de Lara Joins Niece Motorsports for Remainder of 2025 Season

Niece MotorsportsSalisbury, NC (August 11, 2025) – ARCA Menards Series and NASCAR Mexico Challenge Series champion, Andrés Pérez de Lara, has inked a deal to complete the remainder of the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) season with Niece Motorsports beginning this weekend at Richmond Raceway.

The latest addition to the organization’s driver lineup comes on the heels of Pérez de Lara’s former team, Spire Motorsports, announcing his permission to seek other opportunities outside of the No. 77 entry where he completed the first 17 races of the year.

NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Races At The Glen For Third Time In Last 25 Years

NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Mission 176 At The GlenFor the first time in five years and only third time since 2000, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will compete at Watkins Glen International with the Mission 176 at The Glen Friday afternoon (5 p.m. ET, FS1, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) to start NASCAR’s tripleheader weekend.

Current NASCAR Xfinity Series championship contender Austin Hill won the last truck race at the iconic New York road course in 2021 fending off now-NASCAR Cup Series driver John Hunter Nemechek and Hill’s fellow Xfinity Series regular Sheldon Creed for the trophy. You have to go all the way back to 2000 for the previous truck race at The Glen, won from pole position by Greg Biffle.
