PORTLAND, Ore. (July 27, 2025) – The Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli’s Western Championship Race 2 at Portland International Raceway was nearly a repeat of Race 1, with the caution-free event once again dominated by Brody Goble in the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series and Ken Sutherland in TA Cup. The two fired off strong and led from flag to flag, with Goble scoring his fourth win of the season and Sutherland claiming his third-consecutive victory.

Ken Sutherland was dominant in TA Cup, leading the class from flag to flag to win the PIR SpeedTour race overall in his second-consecutive victory.

It didn’t take long to bust every bracket in NASCAR’s inaugural In-Season Challenge.
The first two stages of Saturday night’s Quaker State 400 at EchoPark Speedway took care of that. A seven-car wreck on Lap 57 and a colossal 22-car incident 12 laps later wiped out most of the top choices to win the $1-million top prize in the five-race tournament.

The fireworks started off early with the rain-postponed Casella Waste Management 50-lapper for the Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Models. From the pole position hard-luck driver Scott Coburn led the early war but was overtaken by Memorial Day Classic winner Stephen Donahue on lap 15. Riverhead Drivers Dominate Early But Patrick Emerling Prevails In Whelen Modified Tour Miller Lite 200 Saturday
Over the first 115-laps of the Miller Lite 200 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event at Riverhead Raceway Saturday a combination of Tom Rogers Jr. of Riverhead, Dave Brigati of Calverton and Kyle Soper of Manorville showed the way. For awhile it appeared Ed Brunnhoelzl Jr. who was the last Riverhead regular to win a WMT race in 1995 would witness that 26-year mark erased. Then the second half of the race unfolded with WMT championship contender Patrick Emerling of Orchard Park, NY taking the lead on lap 116 from Soper to score the victory. (more…)
