Bob Tasca Steps From NHRA Funny Car Seat, Hires Champion Austin Prock to Drive His Mustang

As part of a lavish, globally streamed Ford Racing online presentation from Detroit late Thursday and in what he called “a new era” for his organization, Bob Tasca III of Hope, RI announced he is stepping away from the driver’s seat and becoming an NHRA Funny Car team owner only, at least for now.

And he has hired two-time and reigning champion Austin Prock to drive the Dark Horse Mustang, starting in the 2026 season that will kick off in March with the NHRA Gatornationals at Florida’s Gainesville Raceway.

Salisbury, NC (Jan. 14, 2026) – Niece Motorsports proudly welcomes DAYTONA 500 and two-time NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series champion, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., to drive for its NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (NCTS) team.

Stenhouse Jr., an accomplished veteran, primarily competes in the NASCAR Cup Series driving the No. 47 Chevrolet for HYAK Motorsports. The Olive Branch, Mississippi, native has made nearly 600 starts in the top-three national series throughout his career, but has never raced a truck before.

Corey LaJoie Will Drive For Spire Motorsports In The Truck Series At Phoenix

Corey LaJoie will race Spire Motorsports’ No. 77 Gainbridge Chevrolet Silverado in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway.

Last weekend at Martinsville Speedway, LaJoie registered a fifth-place showing after battling water temperature issues early. The Concord, N.C., native rallied from outside the top 20 to secure his third top-five finish of the 2025 campaign.

Corey LaJoie To Drive No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado At Martinsville

Corey LaJoie will drive Spire Motorsports’ No. 77 Gainbridge Chevrolet Silverado in the Slim Jim 200 at Martinsville Speedway.
Last weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, LaJoie piloted his No. 77 Gainbridge Chevy to an eighth-place finish in the Love’s RV Stop 225. After battling inside the top five for much of the afternoon, LaJoie lined up on the front row for NASCAR Overtime when his drafting line broke apart before ultimately finishing eighth.

SEEKONK, Mass. — Seekonk Speedway has a packed weekend of excitement planned September 12-13, with drivers continuing their battle for the championship on both Fast Friday and NASCAR Saturday. On top of that, Saturday night is First Responders Night, with free admission for First Responders courtesy of IBEW Local 99, along with the annual Wall of Fame induction. This year, Ronnie Pond, a “Master of Speed” and Johnny Tripp, a multiple-division winner and a former track champion, will both be inducted at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday night.

Haas Factory Team Confident In Ford For Playoff Drive

Earlier this week, the Haas Factory Team, which fields Fords for Cole Custer in the NASCAR Cup Series and Sam Mayer and Sheldon Creed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, announced it would be switching power-plants to Chevrolet in 2026.

With the news coming just as the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs begin Friday in Bristol, Tenn. the drivers were asked if they worried any about Ford’s commitment to the team as it embarks on a title run.
