Justin Bonsignore Grabs Third-Place Finish at Riverhead Raceway

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. – Justin Bonsignore continued his streak of top-six finishes to open the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season on Sunday afternoon at Riverhead Raceway. Bonsignore brought the No. 51 Phoenix Communications machine home in third in the Miller Lite 200 presents Wayne Anderson. The New York native posted his 24th top-five finish in 28 career Whelen Modified Tour starts at Riverhead.

Doug Coby Grabs Top-Five Finish in Ed Partridge 256 at Riverhead Raceway

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. – Saturday’s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour visit to Riverhead Raceway ended with a top-five finish for Doug Coby.

Driving the Tommy Baldwin Racing No. 7NY, Coby qualified fourth for the Ed Partridge 256, and rode around the top-five for much of the night. With infield pitting a factor for the first time in the history of Whelen Modified Tour racing at Riverhead, the team completed a successful stop and Coby raced to a strong fourth-place finish.

Trailer NASCAR Modified feature event, however lapped traffic allowed him to catch and pass Jeff Strunk of Boyertown, Pa. with just a lap and a half remaining, to give Von Dohren his fourth point race win of the season at Grandview Speedway. West Haven, VT – Much like the NFL draft, each year there is a sense of who might be first overall. Kenny Tremont Jr. was unstoppable for six seasons, where he earned four track titles at Devil’s Bowl Speedway between 2015 and 2020. When ‘The Bowl’ switched to Saturday night racing in 2021 it changed everything. There was suddenly no clear favorite. Again, that rings true heading into 2022.
