NASCAR, City of Winston-Salem, and Winston-Salem State University announced several initiatives today that are preparing the facility for a future that includes the return of NASCAR Cup Series racing to its historic quarter-mile oval for the first time since 1971.

(Oct. 23, 2024) — NASCAR today announced its recognition of Bobby Allison as the official winner of the NASCAR Cup Series Myers Brothers Memorial at Bowman Gray Stadium on August 6, 1971. The NASCAR record books have been updated to reflect Allison in sole possession of fourth place on the all-time Cup Series wins list with 85 wins.

Oxford, ME — One last go-round for the ACT Flying Tiger Tri-State Series brought twenty-four Vermont and New Hampshire drivers over the border to the State of Maine for Saturday’s championship finale for the three-race series at Oxford Plains Speedway. While an end-of-season Flying Tiger showdown has been held annually at Oxford Plains since 2019, Saturday’s showcase became a first for ‘North America’s #1 Support Division’ with a point-counting event crowning a champion at the 3/8-mile Maine oval! Taylor Gray Joins Joe Gibbs Racing NASCAR Xfinity Series Lineup in 2025
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (October 16, 2024) – Joe Gibbs Racing announced today that Taylor Gray will drive the team’s No. 54 Toyota GR Supra fulltime in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025. Gray, who currently races in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, has competed part-time for the JGR Xfinity Series team this season.
The 19-year-old New Mexico native has enjoyed success at every stage of his young career. This season, Gray has earned a pair of top-five finishes in the Xfinity Series, including an eye-opening third-place result in his debut at Richmond Raceway in March. In the Truck Series, he qualified for the playoffs in his first full season on the strength of seven top-five finishes and 11 top-10s so far. Gray also enjoyed success in the ARCA Menards Series with nine total victories across the series’ three platforms – national, east, and west. (more…)

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted its final Friday night race program of the 2024 season with NAPA Auto Parts Championship Night on October 4. Feature wins were notched by Michael Christopher, Jr. in the SK Modified® feature, Adam Gray in the Late Model feature, Josh Morrison in the SK Light feature, Matt Clement in the Limited Late Model feature, and Travis Hydar in the Street Stock feature. Tyler Chapman had already secured the SK Light track championship last week and the other 2024 track champions are Andrew Molleur in the SK Modified® division, Kevin Gambacorta for the second consecutive season in the Late Model division, Matt Clement in the Limited Late Model division, and Travis Downey in the Street Stock feature. Puleo, Gray, Chapman, Hammann, & Hydar Score Sept. 27 Weekly Racing Wins at Stafford; Tyler Chapman Clinches SK Light Track Championship
(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted its penultimate Weekly Racing event of the 2024 season on Friday, Sept. 27. Taking down feature wins on the night were Jon Puleo in the SK Modified® feature, Adam Gray in the Late Model feature, Tyler Chapman in the SK Light feature, Rich Hammann in the Limited Late Model feature, and Travis Hydar in the Street Stock feature. Champan’s SK Light victory, his ninth of the season, enabled him to clinch the 2024 SK Light track championship.
In the 40-lap SK Modified® feature, Anthony Flannery led the field to green and he took the early lead but the field was only able to complete one lap before the caution flew for Ethan Durocher, who came to a stop on the frontstretch grass with damage to his right front suspension. (more…)
