Justin Haley, driver of the No. 51 Tree Top / Fraternal Order of Eagles / Jacob Ford Mustang for Rick Ware Racing (RWR), will make his fourth start in the Great American Race when the NASCAR Cup Series takes the green flag Sunday for the 66th running of the Daytona 500.
MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Feb. 2, 2024) – Riley Herbst will contest the 66th Daytona 500 on Feb. 18 at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway for Rick Ware Racing (RWR) with support from longtime partner Monster Energy. Herbst will pilot the No. 15 Monster Energy Ford Mustang in the Great American Race, the first in a series of select NASCAR Cup Series races he will run with RWR in 2024.
Stewart-Haas Racing’s Riley Herbst finally accomplished what every driver strives for when they get behind the wheel of a race car – a trip to Victory Lane. His first win in the NASCAR Xfinity Series came after 139 starts, 24 top fives, 68 top 10s and three Xfinity Series Playoff appearances (2020, 2021, 2022). Herbst is the 15th different winner in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this season, tying 2023 with the 1987, 2004, 2014 and 2018 seasons for the fourth-most different winners through 30 races.
After another off week for the NASCAR Xfinity Series last weekend, the series is back in action this weekend for the Steakhouse Elite 200 at Darlington Raceway (1 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) on Saturday, May 8.
Time was of the essence on Saturday as a thunderstorm was barreling toward Talladega Superspeedway in the middle of the NASCAR Xfinity Series race. The competition was fierce but as the skies opened up, it was Kaulig Racing’s Jeb Burton that was able to hold onto the lead just before the final caution came out before the race was red-flagged and ultimately called because of weather securing his first career NASCAR Xfinity Series win. The NASCAR Xfinity Series was off last weekend as the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and NASCAR Cup Series took on Richmond Raceway. Prior to that, the NASCAR Xfinity Series was in Martinsville, Virginia for the Cook Out 250. The race was postponed after weather took over during the originally scheduled start on Friday. The race was rescheduled for Sunday, April 11 and the series crowned another first-time winner in JR Motorsport’s driver Josh Berry. (more…)
