MILFORD, Conn. — Doug Coby is looking to add a fifth NAPA Spring Sizzler victory to his resume this Friday night at Stafford Motor Speedway. In race two of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season, Coby will return to his home track on April 30 to drive the Mayhew Tools No. 10, coming off a sixth-place finish in the Whelen Modified Tour opener at Martinsville Speedway. NASCAR: Will Brett Moffitt’s decision pay off?
Add another driver to the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoff conversation. Brett Moffitt switched his points eligibility from the Truck Series to the Xfinity Series.
At the time of the switch, Moffitt sat in 15th place in the Truck Series point standings, 37 points below the playoff cut line. Now, he enters Saturday’s Ag-Pro 300 at Talladega Superspeedway with zero points in the Xfinity Series. (more…)

Bob Tasca III’s NHRA Victory in Vegas Shows Funny Car Class is Wide Open
After the Ford Motor Company pulled out of NHRA pro drag racing in late 2013, Cranston, RI’s Bob Tasca III warned it had made a mistake: “I truly believe they have underestimated the passion and loyalty of the NHRA fans” – and lobbied hard for a decision reversal.
Ford agreed to continue supporting his Funny Car program, but Tasca made a promise on his end, too. (more…)
Logano: Bowman “kind of snookered everybody” in win
Joey Logano of Middletown, CT wasn’t as dominant as Denny Hamlin but felt he had just as good a chance to win Sunday’s Cup race at Richmond.
Hamlin led on the final restart with 10 of 400 laps remaining with Logano lined up alongside him. While Hamlin had led the most laps in the race, Logano had shown the ability to lead late in the event.
It looked like the duo would duel to the finish.
