Trans Am National Championship Returns to The Brickyard, Adds Two Doubleheader Events Next SeasonCHARLOTTE (August 26, 2025) — The Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli announces its 2026 schedule for its 60th-anniversary season. DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Each and every season the Michelin GT Challenge at VIRginia International Raceway is the chance for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s Grand Touring Daytona Pro (GTD PRO) and Grand Touring Daytona (GTD) competitors to strut their stuff in the spotlight. They seldom disappoint, and this year was no exception.
Not only were the identities of the victors in both categories in some doubt right up until the checkered flag, so were the identities of the rest of the podium finishers. The top three in GTD PRO were covered by five seconds while the GTD podium was blanketed by 2.7 seconds.
NASCAR Cup Series teams head to Darlington Raceway for the second time this season, and a largely similar Goodyear Racing Eagle tire setup awaits them.

Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series at Daytona International Speedway… The NASCAR Cup Series returns to Daytona International Speedway this weekend to race under the lights of the 2.5-mile speedway. Saturday night’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 marks the 157th running of a NASCAR Cup Series race at Daytona, and the most among all tracks in Cup Series history. Richard Childress Racing has made an impressive 202 starts at track and counts four Coke Zero Sugar 400 victories among the organization’s impressive seven points-paying wins at the track. Austin Dillon was RCR’s most recent Coke Zero Sugar 400 race winner, earning the win in 2022 to clinch a spot in the NASCAR Playoffs. Other Coke Zero Sugar 400 race winners include Kevin Harvick (2010) and Dale Earnhardt (1990, 1993). RCR owns three Daytona 500 wins (Earnhardt – 1998, Harvick – 2007, Dillon – 2018). In addition, RCR has collected11 poles in Cup Series competition at Daytona.
The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season continues this Sunday, Aug. 24, with the Michelin GT Challenge at Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Va., at 2 p.m. ET on USA Network and Peacock.
