WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Jimmy Blewett raced from a seventh starting spot and contended every lap of the 150-lap distance before winning the Tour Type Modified main event during the 48th annual Turkey Derby at Wall Stadium Speedway Saturday. Saturday night after making an unapproved adjustment after setting fast time in qualifying Kyle Soper of Manorville was made to start The Bubba 100 Buzz Chew NASCAR Modifieds event at the rear of the 19-car grid. No problem for Soper who made enough lemonade after being handed lemons for the entire pit area to quench their thirst with as he drove from last to first for his fourth victory in the last seven starts. Delaney Scores Third Riverhead Raceway Crate Modified Victory In Last Five Starts
Less than 24 hours removed from celebrating a family members wedding Vinny Delaney of East Islip kept the party going Saturday night at Riverhead Raceway when he won a non-stop 25 lap Eagle Auto Mall Crate Modified feature event with many of those family and friends from the nuptials the night before watching on. Vinny is currently the hottest driver in the Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series at Riverhead winning his third race in five starts since June 20th as a near capacity crowd looked on. (more…)
