Kevin Gambacorta and Paul Varricchio, Jr. Lead Late Model Division Into Aug. 23 Double Header at Stafford Speedway

(Stafford Springs, CT)—With Stafford’s Late Model division set to partake in a double header this Friday, August 23rd, the race for the championship is coming into focus.  Kevin Gambacorta, the driver of the #23 Lavigne Law Chevrolet and Paul Varricchio, Jr., driver of the #39 Tavern on the Trax Chevrolet, kicked off the 2024 season racing one another for the season opening NAPA Spring Sizzler® victory and they are still the two drivers to beat in the race for the championship.  Both Gambacorta and Varricchio opened the season with strong results, Gambacorta recording 6 consecutive podium finishes and 2 wins, and Varricchio recording 3 podium finishes, including his first career victory on May 31st, and they have continued to run well all season long as the only 2 drivers to record top-10 finishes in each of the first 11 races.

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted AZ Roofing Kids Night on Friday, May 31st, the first of three kids nights scheduled for the 2024 season.  It was a night of first-time 2024 winners with Marcello Rufrano taking the SK Modified® feature, Paul Varricchio, Jr. the Late Model feature, Nickolas Hovey the SK Light feature, Kyle Theriault the Limited Late Model feature, and Tyler Trott the Street Stock feature.  There were two kids big wheel races with Joseph Davenport and Max Ayers the winners. The 26th annual Community Bank, N.A. 150 was the first of its existence to be under the lights of the Nation’s Site of Excitement on Saturday night, and exciting it was. Thirty-nine American-Canadian Tour Late Models were whittled down to a twenty-nine car starting field for a fantastic showing at the Tour’s homebase with many storylines competing for the top spot! (Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted the 52nd Annual NAPA Spring Sizzler® on Sunday, April 28 with feature events for the SK Modified® and SK Light divisions.  Troy Talman notched his first career Stafford SK Modified® feature victory with a thrilling last lap pass on Marcello Rufrano while the SK Light feature event was halted with 8 laps complete due to rain.

Alexander Pearl Ready to Contend for SK Light Championship at Stafford

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Coming into the 2023 season at Stafford Speedway, Alexander Pearl and the #7 Darling Auto Parts team were riding a 5-season streak of winning at least one race per season, dating back to Pearl’s rookie season of 2018.  Although Pearl notched three second place finishes last season, he ended up winless for the first time in his SK Light career.  With the 2024 season set to kick off at the end of April, Pearl has his sights set on starting a new winning streak.

(Stafford Springs, CT)—For the 2024 racing season at Stafford Speedway, AZ Roofing of Bristol, CT will become the newest member of the Stafford Speedway Contingency Program, offering a weekly $150 bonus to each SK Light feature winner.  AZ Roofing’s bonus will boost the weekly SK Light feature winner’s purse to $800 and with 22 races on the schedule, SK Light drivers have the opportunity to earn an extra $3,300 during the 2024 season.
