Bobby Stirk, III Seeking First Late Model Victory in Paradiso Insurance 50 After Piecing Car Back Together

(Stafford Springs, CT)—With Stafford Speedway’s Late Model division set to run their annual extra distance feature event, the Paradiso Insurance 50, this Friday September 6, Bobby Stirk, III and the #9 team sponsored by A6A Associates, Tri-State Elevator & Hoist, and Costa & Son Construction are ready to fight for their first Late Model victory. The fact that Stirk will even be at the track to try to win the race would be a small miracle after crashing his car and seeing the front end briefly catch fire in last week’s feature event. But thanks to some hard work by his crew, Stirk will be at the track ready to chase the checkered flag.

Extra Prize Money Added to Pro Late Model Event October 5 at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway

(Nashville, TN) Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway is down to the final two events of the 2024 racing season, as the track will next open back up for the Saturday, October 5 Breast Cancer Awareness race followed by the All American 400 weekend, the first weekend in November.

In hopes of making the October 5 race a bigger success and as a thank you to all of this year’s teams, race officials have added extra prize money to the October 5 Pro Late Model race. The 100-lap race will now pay $5,000 to win and $500 to start, giving teams a significant increase in prize money at the event which will be the final tune-up before the All American 400 weekend. (Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted another round of Weekly Racing with twin Late Model feature events on Friday, Aug. 23rd. Cliff Saunders and Paul Varricchio, Jr. were the winners of the Late Model feature events with Saunders picking up his first win of the season and Varricchio using a last lap pass to record his second win of the season. Troy Talman was victorious for the third time this season in the SK Modified® feature, Tyler Chapman notched his sixth win of the season in the SK Light feature, Jeremy Lavoie took down his first win of the season in the Limited Late Model feature, and Travis Downey scored win #2 of the season in the Street Stock feature. On a picture-perfect evening, a standing room only crowd packed Riverhead Raceway for the final School Bus Demolition Derby of 2024. Prior to the mayhem, the Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series was in action with Jeremy McDermott of Riverhead capturing the headline 40-lap Late Model feature event for his third win of the season.

Kevin Gambacorta and Paul Varricchio, Jr. Lead Late Model Division Into Aug. 23 Double Header at Stafford Speedway

(Stafford Springs, CT)—With Stafford’s Late Model division set to partake in a double header this Friday, August 23^rd, the race for the championship is coming into focus. Kevin Gambacorta, the driver of the #23 Lavigne Law Chevrolet and Paul Varricchio, Jr., driver of the #39 Tavern on the Trax Chevrolet, kicked off the 2024 season racing one another for the season opening NAPA Spring Sizzler® victory and they are still the two drivers to beat in the race for the championship. Both Gambacorta and Varricchio opened the season with strong results, Gambacorta recording 6 consecutive podium finishes and 2 wins, and Varricchio recording 3 podium finishes, including his first career victory on May 31st, and they have continued to run well all season long as the only 2 drivers to record top-10 finishes in each of the first 11 races.
