Hovey & Matthews Score Aug. 30 SK Light Feature Wins; Christopher, Gray, Winter, & Hydar Also Notch Maybury Kids Night Wins at Stafford

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted Maybury Back to SKool Kids night with twin SK Light feature events on Friday, Aug. 30th. The big winners of the night were Nickolas Hovey and Chris Matthews, who split the SK Light features between themselves with Hovey notching his third win of the season and Matthews his second. Other feature winners were Michael Christopher, Jr. in the SK Modified® feature, Adam Gray in the Late Model feature, Matt Winter, II, and Travis Hydar. As part of Maybury Kids Night, there were two kids big wheel races and they were won by 6 year old Bentley Walmsley of Franklin and 5 year old Cole Frazier of Agawam, MA.

In the 40-lap SK Modified® feature, Dylan Kopec took the early lead while behind him Andrew Molleur moved into second, Marcello Rufrano third, Tyler Hines fourth, and Jon Puleo fifth. Steven Chapman got out of shape but gathered his car up and rejoined at the rear of the field as the race stayed green. (more…)

Timmy Solomito Repeats In Riverhead Raceway Cecil Palm Tree 66 Wednesday

For the second consecutive season, the Cecil Palm Tree 160 was adversely affected by weather the original date forcing Riverhead Raceway management to reschedule the race run in honor of Eddie Partridge. The race was shifted to Wednesday night, the distance again modified to 66 laps, which was just fine with defending race winner Timmy Solomito of Islip who led all the way scoring his third win of 2024.

Solomito set the tone in qualifying laying down a lap of 11.750 with Mark Stewart and John Beatty Jr. clicking off identical laps of 11.815. It would be Stewart lining-up alongside Solomito as the field took the green from Partridge’s nephew Tom Gatz and daughter Alexis. Solomito, winner of the most recent event at Riverhead winning the Baldwin, Evans & Jarzombek 77 on August 17th broke right to the lead with Stewart right behind.

Ron Midford, Jr. Seeking First SK Light Victory in Aug. 30 Maybury Kids Night at Stafford Speedway

(Stafford Springs, CT)—With Stafford Speedway’s SK Light division partaking in double features this Friday night, Aug. 30th as part of Maybury Back to SKool Kids Night, Ron Midford, Jr. will be in search of his first SK Light victory with his #76 Constantine Paving and Sealing car. Midford is in the midst of his third full season of SK Light competition after winning 30+ features and 2 championships in the Senior Champs division of Wild Thing Karts and is looking to go one position higher after posting a career best finish of second place in the season opening NAPA Spring Sizzler® event. Justin Bonsignore Looks For Another Oswego Triumph

With the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season down to the final six events, Justin Bonsignore and the Kenneth Massa Motorsports team will head to Oswego Speedway this Saturday night. Race 11 of the season brings the team to New York, as the Whelen Modified Tour will run 150 laps as part of the Bud Classic weekend. The event will take place on Saturday, August 31 at 8 p.m.

Bonsignore leads the Whelen Modified Tour point standings by four markers over Ron Silk and is coming off two straight podium finishes. Bonsignore has finished inside the top-five in all but two races this season in the No. 51 Phoenix Communications Inc. Modified.

Kids Money Scramble Joins NASCAR Modified & Sportsman Double Header This Saturday At Grandview Speedway

BECHTELSVILLE, PA. – Grandview Speedway is prepared and ready for the Labor Day holiday weekend with the presentation of two-days of racing to end the month of August.

This Saturday, August 31 will feature the T.P. Trailer NASCAR Modifieds and the T.P. Truck Equipment NASCAR Sportsman in another NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series program starting at 7:30 pm. The show will include qualifying events for both classes leading up to the 30-lap T.P. Trailer Modified feature and the 25-lap T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman feature event. (more…)

Andy Jankowiak Claims Another Victory In The George Decker Memorial In Race Of Champions Sportsman Modified Series

Holland, NY – (August 26, 2024) – Andy Jankowiak of Tonawanda, NY, drove to another victory in the George Decker Memorial for the Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series this past Saturday night during the Busch Light 100 presented by Try-It Distributing at Holland (NY) Speedway this past Saturday.

Jankowiak started 10^th and drove his way to the front topping Jake Vernon from Eden, NY and Kevin Timmerman from Ontario, NY.

Back to School Day is in the ‘Books’ at Hudson Speedway!

Hudson, NH- As the Original Family Fun track returned to day hours it means one thing, Summer is coming to an end. To celebrate the track held back to school day giving out back packs to kids preparing to start school this coming week.

Granite State Indoor Range Six Shooters took to the track to do battle. The race would be slowed by one caution flag. Steve Miller Jr. in car #79 led every lap to capture the win. The real excitement was the three-car battle for second that came down to the last lap to shake out. Michael Yeaton in car #25NH used a three wide pass to capture 2nd. Steve Miller Sr. in the #68 settled for 3rd with Trystin Bodwell (17x) in 4th and Mike Comtois (52NH) in 5^th.

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Stafford Speedway hosted another round of Weekly Racing with twin Late Model feature events on Friday, Aug. 23rd. Cliff Saunders and Paul Varricchio, Jr. were the winners of the Late Model feature events with Saunders picking up his first win of the season and Varricchio using a last lap pass to record his second win of the season. Troy Talman was victorious for the third time this season in the SK Modified® feature, Tyler Chapman notched his sixth win of the season in the SK Light feature, Jeremy Lavoie took down his first win of the season in the Limited Late Model feature, and Travis Downey scored win #2 of the season in the Street Stock feature.
