NMPA to Present Myers Brothers Award to FOX NASCAR Play-by-Play Announcer Mike Joy Friday in Daytona

The National Motorsports Press Association (NMPA) will present FOX Sports play-by-play announcer Mike Joy the prestigious Myers Brothers Award on Friday, Feb. 13, at 2:30 PM ET in the Daytona International Speedway media center deadline room.

Joy, who has led the FOX NASCAR broadcast team since 2001, FOX’s first year as a NASCAR broadcast partner, this week marks the 47^th Daytona 500 for which he has been a part of live TV or radio coverage and his 57^th year in motorsports broadcasting. He calls this year’s “Great American Race” on FOX on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 2:30 PM ET.

Record books reflect Allison as fourth on all-time Cup Series wins list with 85

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Oct. 23, 2024) — NASCAR today announced its recognition of Bobby Allison as the official winner of the NASCAR Cup Series Myers Brothers Memorial at Bowman Gray Stadium on August 6, 1971. The NASCAR record books have been updated to reflect Allison in sole possession of fourth place on the all-time Cup Series wins list with 85 wins.

Gray Takes Cody Chevrolet 100 En-Route to Myers Container Triple Crown Championship

Barre, VT — Terry Pearce and Paige Whittemore brought the rk Miles Street Stocks out of the pit area to lead Cody Chevrolet-Cadillac Night at Thunder Road with their 25-lap main event. The first caution on lap 4 spelled trouble for title hopeful Trevor Jaques while Pearce maintained the lead on the restart over Whittemore and Jamie Davis as title hopefuls Ryan Foster, Dean Switser and Josh Lovely began to breathe down their backs! Through it all, Terry Pearce would earn his second win of the season in style, dominating the Cody Chevrolet-Cadillac trophy dash with Paige Whittemore and Jamie Davis joining him in victory lane. For the second-consecutive week, a first-time winner has carried on a strong family name to Thunder Road victory lane while high-speed two and three-wide moves wowed the crowd at hand. Barre, VT — Although practice was plagued by raindrops that also pushed back the start time of Friday’s festivities, drivers and officials pushed and completed the Vermont Career Technical Centers and Vermont Agency of Education Night with flying colors at Thunder Road.
